2.4 PERSONNEL PLAN and HOURS
One thing that differentiates us from other Internet cafés is the fact that we will be staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. In order to be able to provide this type of service to our guests, we will charge $10.00 per month. This monthly surcharge will allow our guests to access the facility between the hours of 10:00 pm and 7:00 am.
In order to be able to provide our guests with this type of access, Iced Tea Hot Coffee will have a staff consisting of three part-time employees working thirty hours a week at $8.50 per hour and three full-time employees working 40 hours a week at $9.25 per hour. In addition, there will be one full-time technician (who is more technologically oriented to handle minor terminal repairs/inquiries) who will work forty hours a week at $12.00 per hour. The private investors, James Watnem, Alexander Rodriguez, Talley Perine, MyraCeta Duchateau, and Khyntarian Williams will not be included in management decisions. This simple structure provides a great deal of flexibility and allows communication to disperse quickly and directly. It will also limit the coordination issues that face larger chains and will allow Iced Tea Hot Coffee to react quickly to market changes.

3.1 MARKET SUMMARY
With more Baby Boomers still in the workforce, Iced Tea Hot Coffee has the privilege of being the first, of what I am sure will be many, Internet cafés in this area. Since hanging out at cafés, while
By 2003, the number of retail specialty coffee shops, cafes, kiosks, coffee carts, and roasters in the United States reached over 17,000, equating to nearly $9 billion in sales. According to the Specialty Coffee Association of America, 16 percent of adults in the United States drink coffee from one of these specialty outlets daily. (“Organo Gold”, 2008).
Service Business Analysis:The retail coffee industry in the U.S. has recently experienced rapid growth. The cool marine climate in southwest Washington stimulates consumption of hot beverages throughout the year. Coffee drinkers in the Pacific Northwest are finicky about the quality of beverages offered at the numerous coffee bars across the region. Despite low competition in the immediate area, JJB will position itself as a place where customers can enjoy a cup of delicious coffee with a fresh pastry in a relaxing environment.
When offers of reduced pricing are accepted for equipment, meeting delivery expectations becomes an important part of enhancing the customer experience to maintain satisfied loyal customers. An inventory specialist in the current distribution center would be given the additional task of segregating and maintaining inventory levels to meet the needs of the customer loyalty department.
Employee counseling in the workplace has gained distinction over the years and has become increasingly important with the number of incidents related to stress-related health issues ( ). Furthermore, employee assistance programs (EAP) have become so popular that more than 60% of large firms offer EAP services (Dessler, 2013). With corporations competing for success, excellence, and the increasing intricacies of work, employees now experience enormous work-life stress leading to anxiety and depression. EAPs are programs intended to facilitate employee well-being (Dessler, 2013). EAPs offer assistance and counseling, such as personal, legal, and financial services, child and elder care referrals, adoption assistance, mental health counseling,

Headland Elementary School currently serves approximately 850 students in grades PK-5. Currently over half of the students receive free or reduced lunch. Students travel a maximum of fifteen miles each day to reach school. The school day begins each day by offering students breakfast in a high performing cafeteria. The school operates like a well -oiled machine throughout the day as students change classes (including kindergarten) and pass each other in an orderly manner towards their next class. Upon observation, classrooms are active and students are highly engaged.
The Canadian hot drinks market valued at $1114.7 million is forecasted to have an increase of 12.9% by 2019. Coffee accounts for 67% of the market’s total value as around 2 in 3 Canadian adults drink at least one cup of coffee a day (Canada - Hot Drinks, 2015). This shows that Joe should definitely stay in the business as there is money to be made. However, he needs to make some changes to his business if he wants to keep up with the latest trends and meet customer needs.
You made some great points in your discussion post. Sadly I think staffing is always going to be an issue in nursing. I wish there was a way we could snap our fingers and fix the issue but, of course we know it is not that easy. I definitely agree that a hospitals patient-to nurse ratio needs to be a practical amount. If a nurse is overwhelmed it can lead to awful consequences and harmful patient care. As Garcia & Nell (2013) state “scheduling and staffing aren’t simply a matter of achieving a certain ratio; the cost of mistakes can be measured both in dollars and human lives.” As future nurses we must remember if we become overloaded with our patient workload we need to ask for help. It is better to ask for assistance then potentially harm
As a nurse manager, Sam is responsible for staffing his unit. Nurse managers are challenged with the task of managing scheduling and staffing within their particular budget (Yoder-Wise, 2015). Sam must staff his unit, which includes planning for hiring and positioning qualified human resources to meet the needs of a unique group of patients (Yoder-Wise, 2015). Sam must consider several aspects of the unit in order to staff the appropriate amount of employees. He must consider the type of floor (range of patient conditions), number of patients, patient satisfaction, stage of illness, observations with interventions required, family situation and treatment needs (Yoder-Wise, 2015). He then must select the appropriate applicant, the individual must be qualified, fit the culture of the unit, and ultimately “the goal is to match the person with the

The new employee scheduling system that Walmart has implemented is unethical. Calling an employee last minute for an opening is unethical not only because they will be caught off guard, but because they also have other things in their life that they might be doing in that moment they recieve a last minute shift call. This creates an environment for Walmart that includes employees that are stressed out, due to being called in at the last minute, and may create a decrease in productive work being done, based of bad attitudes the employees may have while working. Personally, if I were an employee at Walmart I would do anything I could to get this new system out of the business as a whole. Using
Recognition to major coffee chains, in the last two decades the coffeehouse has become a familiar portion of American life. Every day, millions of Americans stop for a specialty coffee. These consumers who would not have dreamed of spending more than fifty cents for a cup of coffee a few years ago now joyfully pay three to five dollars for their specialty flavored hot and ice blended javas.
Though coffee houses throughout Europe have a self-explanatory function of meeting point, discussion area and recreational facility, this concept has only recently been explored in North America, and is gaining in popularity and social recognition as we speak, and is only expected to increase over the course of the next few years.
There is a large variety of beverages available ranging from energy drinks or soda to juice and water. If one considers the social aspect of coffee, alcoholic beverages may also be taken into concern. However, Starbucks sells a large selection of these beverages within its stores. While the majority of coffee drinkers do not substitute away from coffee or coffee related beverages such as espresso or blended drinks, the most direct substitute is tea, which Starbucks sells under its own Tazo Tea brand. Due to current economic conditions and consequently a change in the competitive landscape, Starbucks must be weary of at home production, especially as premium coffeemakers are being built to make single serving cups at a fraction of the cost. Again, Starbucks has covered this segment as it offers Starbucks branded coffee at various grocery store locations and warehouse club stores. Thus, the company has done a good job hedging against the threat of substitutes with the variety of beverages it offers.
