Imagine a world without a race with diversity and a culture without differences. The world would be bland and a useless place to live. A place where life would truly be absurd.
The world has its pros and cons. But life wouldn’t be different without its cons. For example: agriculture. Every country has different kinds of plants and things that grow there. Roses, sunflowers, weeds, and all kinds of plants, they can be different shapes and heights. Even plants have their own habitats where it’s suitable for them to live. Although, some plants have no habitat, some plants just grow wherever they go like, famous people from Hollywood. But honestly, this poem makes him seem like a selfish person. And I don’t agree with what he has to say in this poem, with his desire to be something he’s not. Polanco‘s poem says that he’d rather be an ugly weed. The main point of how Polanco feels is he would rather be the outcast than liked.
In his poem Identity, he says:
 “Let them be as flowers, always watered, fed, guarded, admired, but harnessed to a pot of dirt.” 
How Polanco seems to feel is excluded himself from a group and as a person who is cared about. Polanco doesn’t seem to think about his friends and family who care about him. He’s only thinking about a girl. But Polanco should ask himself if he’d feel that he would rather be an ugly weed over a girl? “I’d rather be unseen, and if then shunned by everyone” 
Polanco feels that he’d rather be left out of everything involving everyone than to participate with people, which is just how weeds are left alone only to grow more and ruin things. People who keep nice lawns don’t want ugly weeds polluting their lawn. They wouldn’t feel any happier for their lawn but to get rid of those weeds. Being a weed would be the perfect way of exclusion from people.
Now, everyone knows ‘musty’ and ‘green’ doesn’t bring up a good image. The first thing that comes to mind is mold, but musty, green stench? Whether you’ve smelled it or not, it doesn’t bring up the type of smell that you would want to smell any
