Did you know that every president that america had so far came from the united states? In all the years that the Presidential debate has be going on more and more people from different countries and since then won or lost. Would you want to have a president from a different country? I would want a president from a different country. I think that it would be better if we had the chance to expand our presidential line. People from all around the world would like the chance to have the experience of becoming the United States President.
Another four years another presidential debate. Before I go on to the current debates let me state a few facts about past ones. The Lincoln and Douglas debate was in important because it started Lincoln presidential career. The Debates lasted from August 21 -- October 15. There where seven of them, with two days to two weeks in between. Each debate lasted three hours; first candidate spoke for one hour; the second for one and a half hours; the first replying for a half hour. Candidates alternated going first. The topics involved where primarily slavery and the Union. Other important debates were the '48 and '57. They were the only debates before 1960; there were no presidential debates between 1960 and 1976. In
Conflict is inevitable in any personal relationship or among members of any group. While we encounter many types of conflict in our lifetime, we often look for ways to avoid conflict. So, why do we run away from dealing with our conflict? It is often because many of us fear the conflict will escalate into a situation we will not be able to sustain. “As conflicts escalate, they go through certain incremental transformations. Although these transformations occur separately on each side, they affect the conflict as a whole because they are usually mirrored by the other side. As a result of these transformations, the conflict is intensified in ways that are sometimes exceedingly difficult to undo” (Pruitt, and Kim 89). We
During the second Presidential Debate, which was televised on October 9, 2016, I was able to detect many logical fallacies within the arguments of both candidates. For example, when Donald Trump was first asked about the controversial tape that contained footage of him disrespecting and admitting to sexually assaulting women, he avoided this question by attempting to divert attention from this issue. Instead of concretely answering the question, Donald Trump briefly apologized, and then blatantly attempted to ignore the issue by talking about Isis “chopping people’s heads,” and randomly describing all the horrid things that Isis is doing. This logical fallacy is characterized as “Red Herring,” which
In 1791, the Bill of Rights was drafted by congress after arguments ensued over whether the Constitution would uphold the rights of the American people. James Madison proposed twelve Amendments so to limit the power of government, allowing for a more stately and locally controlled system but, only ten were ratified. The ten amendments to be ratified were created to give American citizens freedoms they did not have under British rule. However, in current society the freedoms protected in the Bill of Rights are conflicted by the federal government and the confliction are justified as being beneficial for the general public. The altered interpretations of the Bill of Rights have forsaken freedom of speech, allowed unjustified search and seizure,
In the wake of the death of Antonin Scalia, the Supreme Court Justice , Republican candidates had a debate and met in South Carolina for the 9th GOP debate. This debate mainly discussed what each candidate would do if they were to become president. During these debates, the candidates are given a chance to deliver their messages , and to help voters determine which candidate will be best as president. In the republican debate, each candidate was asked a question which they was expected to answer but somehow didn't appear to do so. While watching, I came to conclusion that some of the arguments were successful and others unsuccessful. In the first section of the debate when candidates Ben Carson, Donald
Presidential election cycles are always three-ring circuses, and the 2000 election has become one of the biggest circuses ever. With a two-term president unable to seek re-election, the House of Representatives clearly up for grabs, and Democrats counting on major Senate gains -- even hoping to win control -- there is a lot at stake in this year's elections. Republicans' optimism is based on their view that they will take back the White House after an eight-year hiatus. GOP insiders believe that Americans are tired of Bill Clinton, have doubts about Vice President Al Gore and are ready for change. Republican turnout was down in 1998, which helps account for the party's poor showing in the off-year
The presidential election in the year 2000 was full of controversy. The election was incredibly close. There were accusations of “hanging chads”, faulty voting equipment and an election that was too close to call. Normally in an election when it appears as though one person is clearly in the lead the tradition is that the person who is losing “concedes” the election. This is an important part of the election process in the United States. In the election of 2000 the vote was so incredibly close that he retracted his concession. This threw the whole system into chaos.
The liberals of the United States of America, and others who disapprove President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are torn. Liberals would like for Donald Trump to be impeached from the presidency. But, if Trump is impeached, the vice president, Pence, would have to take over as the new president. This stirs up a lot of confused feelings; leaving liberals on the fence.
The democratic debate stage almost bursted into flames when one of the hosts questioned Bernie Sanders’ eligibility to be called a democratic representative. He recounted the facts that Sanders had been the “longest serving independent in the United States Congress,” and only joined the Democratic Party recently. Sanders replied with an enumeration of his previous projects with the party during the time. He bravely confirmed those facts, and proved that even though he officially did not work with his current political party for a long amount, he still supported their ideas and projects. To support his claim, Sanders reminded that audience that he “caucused with the House [of Representatives] for 19 years,... caucused with the Senate for 9 years,... and was elected by the democrats to be the chair of the Veterans committee three years ago.” Sanders then mentioned the 50-states party strategy that revived Hillary Clinton’s voice against her rival. She acknowledged that it was former the Vermont Governor's idea, Howard Dean, to have the 50-states party system. Her turn to count the people supporting her presidency followed the small

It seems that the founding fathers were a lot smarter than we give them credit for in 1792. This was the year the College, as we call it today the Electoral College, ratified in the Constitution of the United States of America by the colonies. This would also start the longest continuous debate our nation has ever experienced over a single political issue that continues even today. This debate came center stage during the election of 1800 when Thomas Jefferson and Aaron Burr (Jefferson’s Vice President running mate)received the same number of electoral votes for President even though they were running mates (http://www.ushistory.org/us/20a.asp). This tie would lead to changes to the Electoral College of their day and the foundation for the 12th Amendment to our Constitution.
Throughout our nation's history it has endured 43 presidents, some of them have been remembered as great men who served our country well and made it a better place. Others are more well known for the scandals they caused and others are hardly remembered at all. Despite the amount of presidents that we have had there has never been a president who stands out as the best president ever. Although there are two presidents from the post world war 2 era, each from two separate parties that I believed both had some of the skills to be the best president ever.
Presidential debates were designed as a medium for voters to determine the suitability of potential presidential candidates. Finding topics for these debates is an intense study performed by analysts who survey, along with big data information to determine which topics will pull the greatest emotion, fire up the most drama, and most of the time fail to product any viable solution regardless of what those topics are.
“How would you feel if your mother aborted you? You’re a heartless person and I cannot believe your views!” Before me stood a petite blonde haired blue eyed girl who had as much anger in her as the Hulk when someone makes him mad. I had no clue what I did to her or why she was so upset, but I definitely knew how we got there.
Making a decision is a very important part of life that every person, at one time or another, has to make. Options are always available when someone has to make a decision. In choosing a President for our country, we have to look at our candidates and decide which ones beliefs can help the country the most. We get to hear the President's opinions through the debates. This year, although we had numerous candidates, the only two that were allowed to participate in the debates was Vice President Al Gore and Texas Governor George Bush.
