The Principles of Leadership, Group Dynamics and Team Building In this paper, I will discuss many theories and the impact they have on leadership, group dynamics and team building, and how those principles have affected me in my career and how I will apply these principles in the future. Vision Manning and Curtis define leadership as social influence that results in change. It is initiating action that results in change. (Manning G., p. 1) Dynamic leadership is the driver behind performance and results. Leaders need to create a clearly define vision, and communicate it in such a way as to earn buy in from others. Clarity of objectives will drive the right action, which will insure deliverables and goals are achieved. (Gill, 2015) The principle behind vison is that everyone is aware of the desired goal and vision, and can then efficiently work toward accomplishing that goal. A leaders ability to communicate the vision and achieve a common goal and focus dramatically affects the effectiveness of their team and the success or demise of the business. I have found that leaders who fail to motivate, or lack self-confidence to be weak and ineffective. Good leaders are knowledgeable and trustworthy they are people who are ambitious and results driven. It has been my experience that when leaders lack the ability to remove obstacles or clearly define the objective, the teams fail to produce the results or meet the deliverables.
