The Process of Improving Time Management
The goal of my personal development project was to better my time management and to see if I could implement a good schedule before the end of term. I chose this goal because of the hectic lifestyle I have. At the beginning of this project, I was playing soccer at a competitive level for which I have to train five times a week. I was also working part time. During the beginning of term, I was not satisfied with the quality of work I was producing for homework and often disappointed myself. The quadrant system is made up of four different categories: urgent important, urgent unimportant, not urgent important, and not urgent unimportant. The user divides her tasks into these categories, then creates a schedule to achieve her goals.(Beck) Prioritizing gives more purpose to the things the user does, helping her realize what her goals truly are by forcing her to consider how she spends her time. This idea makes time management a skill that can be relevant to everyone. A study conducted in Taiwan about how retirees use their free time found that the retirees were happier and more satisfied with their days when their time was scheduled. Once I had prioritized my goals, I used a pre-made day planner with detailed time slots to format my schedules for the following day. Eventually, I learned that it was more helpful to use a notebook instead of the day planner because my time was already so structured from set time blocks, such as classes, soccer practices, soccer games, and work. The two methods I tried were Time Blocking and the more ethereal method of scheduling activities to accommodate brain patterns.

We are all very busy with work and school so sometimes we forget what needs to be done in time, so the daily planner is a very useful tool that helps you remember important events. Every day I update something new on my planner that would keep me updated for the upcoming week or month. For example, when it comes to my studies I have a special section for it and I always put a writing “study an hour in am and pm for English” to look over the materials on the given chapter. It is a great way not to fall behind on your studies and you are much better prepared when it comes on taking the chapter exam. When it comes to work I put the days and hours that I work a head of time so I can be able to figure out the time I have left to spend with my family and time for studying. As I mention before, family time is very important to me so I mostly put on my planer simple family stuff such us having dinner in a certain time, days of going out, or doing different chores, enrolling my son into daily or weekly activities, shopping, or family trips.
There are innumerable things that can complicate the time that people have. Family, work, and school are the leading bandits. By using a few easy steps, overcoming the roadblocks will seem effortless and it will be very beneficial in your life.
This piece of reflection will focus on my progress and experiences during my placement in Campbelltown Hospital Medical E ward. I will be using the Gibbs 1988 model of reflection (Gibbs, 1988). This cycle helped me to reflect in a structured and effective way. The subject of this paper will reflect on my time management skills whilst maintaining the necessary standards of practice at all times (NMBA, 2016).
Have a master calendar hung on the wall. Mark the dates of important family events, extracurricular activities, school holidays, class tests and major events at school on it. You can refer this calendar later to plan the day’s schedule. It will also prevent you from missing out any important events.

It is rightly said "Time and Tide wait for none". An individual should understand the value of time for him to succeed in all aspects of life. People who waste time are the ones who fail to create an identity of their own.
There are many reasons that time management is important. For example, if your unit was getting ready for deployment, you would need to be at the right place at the right the time, to receive any information you or your fellow soldiers may need to know before you leave. If you weren’t there when you were told to be then you would fall court martial under article 87 in the UCMJ, which is missing movement. Prioritize. According to Carter, Bishop, and Kravits (2007), prioritizing helps you identify important tasks and to focus most of your time and energy on them. Since, I have all my activities identified in my planners it will make it easy to see what I have to do and I will be able to list and do those activities in order of importance. For example, if I have to write a paper for school, referee a game at eight o’clock pm and have a show for my home-based business at two o’clock pm. I will probably do my paper first to get that out of the way then go to the show and then referee the game.
When I first evaluated myself in the study skill academic test, time management was my weakest skill overall. This was priority in terms of skill development because I would always leave things till the last minute and stress myself out trying to turn in things on time. In order to improve this I made a smart goal to carry out in the beginning of the year. Now after some time, the results of my progression are shown. My smart goal that I created for myself regarding my time management planned out very well, I was able to successfully accomplish a majority of my assignments on time. I would review the material of the week on Monday’s and compile all of the assignments due for the week. The monthly calendar was also a key factor in helping me keep up to date in the month so see what where upcoming tasks the following week. If I needed more clarification on certain tasks then I would login and check the syllabus.
I want to identify the activities that are wasting time during my day and focus more of my attention on activities that will make me a more productive leader. To develop this skill I will immediately start utilizing a running task list throughout the day so I can prioritize tasks into categories. Additionally, I will task myself with further learning and development by practicing Covey’s third habit of personal management. To measure my progress, I will conduct a self-review at the end of each month.
You are only given so many hours each day to complete your goals. To make the most of this time, create a schedule. Start by prioritizing the work that you need to do first and save the less important tasks for later. On a calendar, you can group the activities that are similar, which decreases the amount of time that it takes to complete them. For larger tasks, break them into smaller pieces on your schedule. This makes them less daunting to begin and ensures that you will have enough time to complete them.
Writing it down in a planner, or typing it in on your phone is helpful because it keeps that stuff how being lost in your head, lost in throughout the day then, *Poof* it comes back 15 minutes before you need to do it.
Through the use of modern technology, businesses have an easier way of collaboration. However, with this easier method of collaboration, this means the potential of being a busier business professional. Within a business management system, there is the constant need of needing to have effective time management within the organization. A key priority to effective time management is to identify and correct time wasters.
Time management is more often than not a challenge for many students. This is more so the case for adult students. It is important to note that unlike their younger counterparts, adult learners face a host of unique challenges when it comes to the management of time. In addition to the demands of their fulltime or part-time jobs, adult learners often have to attend to other responsibilities including but not limited to child care and other familial obligations. This text clearly demonstrates how adult learners can better manage their time for academic success.
