Only five to six players on each team actually make millions of dollars. Plus they work hard for what they paid, so athletes are paid fairly.
To begin with, without the athletes we wouldn’t have the league's. First we wouldn’t go and watch the games if they weren’t good, so they also have to be good for the leagues to exist. Also if their weren’t leagues their would be no way to make money off of sports. Now if athletes are the ones making all of the money for the league's then they deserve to get their fair share of it. In other words, without the athletes their wouldn’t be a league to start with.
In addition, athletes also are at risk of injuries every time they play. “ There's a chance, especially if you're playing football that your one play away from a crippling injury” -Doug Ganville. For instance, health insurance companies will either deny athletes coverage or give unhelpful coverage, so most medical bills are payed out of pocket. For this reason, if an athlete’s has to get surgery in retirement, it is very expensive. On that same note, athlete’s with a back, knee or head injuries are affected the rest of their lives. To start with, we are the one who pay the high prices to watch the games and the money we pay goes to paying the athletes. Secondly, these athletes have worked their whole lives to be where they are right now. Also, athletes only get get paid when their playing and they have very short careers,so the money they are paid has to last their whole life.
