Only five to six players on each team actually make millions of dollars. Plus they work hard for what they paid, so athletes are paid fairly.
To begin with, without the athletes we wouldn’t have the league's. First we wouldn’t go and watch the games if they weren’t good, so they also have to be good for the leagues to exist. Also if their weren’t leagues their would be no way to make money off of sports. Now if athletes are the ones making all of the money for the league's then they deserve to get their fair share of it. In other words, without the athletes their wouldn’t be a league to start with.
In addition, athletes also are at risk of injuries every time they play. “ There's a chance, especially if you're playing football that your one play away from a crippling injury” -Doug Ganville. For instance, health insurance companies will either deny athletes coverage or give unhelpful coverage, so most medical bills are payed out of pocket. For this reason, if an athlete’s has to get surgery in retirement, it is very expensive. On that same note, athlete’s with a back, knee or head injuries are affected the rest of their lives. In short, injuries affect athletes physically and financially.

They wouldn 't be where they 're at just sitting on the couch all day long doing nothing. They put a lot of time and effort into their futures. Most people don 't even realize the sacrifices that a pro
Many fans throughout the U.S. blame the high priced contracts on the athletes, but they are not the source of the problem. In a sense, the athletes are just getting their piece of the pie. What the athletes make
For example, the Oregon University Athletics program alone makes $196 million a year just off of sports sales. And twenty other colleges are making over $100 million a year with the athletes still not being paid. Almost every college makes their money off sporting resources like admission, or jersey sales. But almost all of their main money source comes from ticket sales. Depending on the seat view or spot will range from about $14 to $4,250 per ticket. And if the event is a special game the cost rises, along with the team or area. And the thing is that the majority of the money coming from sports the colleges use on things not even needed. Auburn University used money from its sales on a 11,000 foot HD screen for the stadium worth 13.9 million. And many other schools used the money from sporting events for different additions to the school worth well over $50
In the professional world of sports, the athletes can make more than $100,000 to well over $1,000,000. Earning that amount of money is a dream for many college athletes have when they make it into the professionals. There are college athletes and well-known figures in sports around the country who believe that the athletes should be paid. The athletes should be paid because they claim that the level they play at is close to the pros and that they also bring crowds of fans into their games just like professionals. However, college athletes do not get paid a salary unlike they're professional counterpart, instead they receive scholarships that reduce the amount of money they have to pay for college.
Many supporters of pro athletes high pay think that it is not wrong for them to be paid so much. These athletes can and are changing our world for the better. The athletes that are helping out our community and changing the world for the better are usually the ones that don't receive the fame and glory. This shows that we don’t give enough recognition to those athletes that are going out there and doing something to make their community a better place. Athletes make a lot of money but should not be blamed for their high salaries. The leagues that these athletes are playing in is asking big money for media and other things. These high dollar prices are what is getting the athletes their high money. The average ticket to an MLB game costs about
These Pro Athletes are also getting paid a lot of money becauses they are really well in their sport and why are they doing well. It may because they have a lot of talent and put a lot of time into training but also a lot of it could be the use of a performance
Have you ever thought about how much Athletes get paid? If not they get paid about 5.15 million dollars and that's just for one year! I don't know about you but I think that's way way too much. And yes they get injured and may end there carrere. But most of them are lucky and are out for just one year then go back the next year and play like they were before dunking hoops, shooting 3- Pointers etc.
Athletes should not be payed to play; rather, some say they should because the sport is so taxing and takes up much of their time. However, each of the players
The job also includes a big risk for injuries since sports generally require contact. Athletes put their health and careers on the line every time they step up to play. One example of this is the recent concussion scandal that has plagued the NFL. As of mid-August over 3000 former players have sued the NFL do to safety concerns related to concussions (Wong). The claims by the athletes range from them no longer being able to perform routine tasks anymore, memory loss, loss of motor skills, and even in certain cases early death (Mihoces). Concussions are serious problems not only in the NFL but many other professional sports. There is no price that one can put on someone else’s life and these athletes go in and do their job day in and day out knowing the risks that they are taking. This is one of the reasons that athletes demand such a high pay, with such a high risk involved the reward should also be high.
Anytime people think of famous athletes, they think of them as role models to follow and superstars with a lot of money. What exactly do all of these athletes do with so much money? Do athletes get paid too much, according to this statement “The top 10 earners rake in a combined $496.9 million, and they sure do know how to treat themselves” (Melia). Professional athletes are making too much money in a society that wages are traditionally on the value of someone’s work. Some might argue that athletes get paid just right for the amount of effort and sacrifice they take every day in order to give the world the entertainment they want.
Watching sports is an activity that many individuals inside the country and outside the country enjoy. The salary of the players, though, is far too large for what they do. While they do get costly injuries, other jobs provide just as much danger. They get far too much for just playing a sport. Jobs far more important don’t pay as well, also.
"Obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out a way to climb it, go through it, or work you way around it." said by Micheal Jordan. Professional athletes are payed based of if they affect the team in a positive of negative way. Professional athletes have worked hard their whole life, been through ups and downs, and have reached their goal in the end.
The United States of America is a free country where people should be free to live their dreams. An athlete who is talented and is willing to spend many years training, should be free to earn a large salary. With the large salaries they earn, they pay for their medical bills and other bills they might have. Not only do athletes work hard to earn the money, but they also inspire us. Many jobs would not exist without athletes and their astounding talent.
Finally, the football business is private, no public money pays for the bills so why should we care about how much are the players paid? It is a sport that is enjoyed by millions of people and it is known everywhere so it is maybe true that these players are worth the money, that their talent deserves this money.
Every year millions are handed out to players that don’t play on the field and you might not even know they play the sport, for them money is nothing they need to worry about while homeless and low income and getting weaker. Our economy has fallen very much in the past 20 years and we have not made a full recovery. We need to distribute the money that Sport Professionals get over paid with in many different helping the people ways. On average a NBA player makes well over five million dollars a year while on average a person with a minimum wage job will receive only 20 to 40 thousand a year making this only less than 1 percent pay compared to pros. On average a Pro Football Team uses about 30 players for a team yet have 50 on their roster every year. Good time and money are wasted while America the country with most paid athletes has the highest homeless rate than most countries around the world. Many athletes get paid well over a million dollars a year. Do these players really need that amount of money?
