The day my parents drove into the driveway with a Jeep was one of the most exciting days in my life. Although it would be six long months before I actually had a driver's license, the Jeep represented freedom. Still to this day, I am grateful for the privilege to roll down the top and blast my music. But, I’m still a kid with a desire to one day go from zero to sixty in less than three seconds. The Jeep is enjoyable but I hope one day earn enough money to buy a Dodge Hellcat for many reasons. One of the main reasons people with an affinity for speed want to own the Dodge is because it has seven hundred and seven horsepower. The Jeep, on the other hand, has two hundred and eighty-five horsepower. This difference in power means that the Jeep is much slower than the Hellcat with a top speed of only one hundred and nine compared to the Dodge’s one hundred and ninety-nine miles per hour. My inner nine year old sees those numbers and begins to love the Hellcat but I have to wonder what the insurance costs would be for an eighteen-year old driver. Further, the utilitarian exterior of a Jeep and the racing style of a Dodge Hellcat are in stark contrast like the stereotypes of their drivers. The Jeep has an MSRP of around twenty-nine thousand. In addition, Jeeps retain their value extremely well and always rank high on best resale value lists. When the car is eventually sold, owners will get a decent return on their investment. On the other hand, the Dodge comes in at a steep sixty-three thousand dollar price tag. The crazy thing about the Hellcat is to buy one second hand will cost you around seventy-two thousand dollars which is more than twice as much as the Jeep. The reason for this is that they are relatively rare and to buy one you must be put on a waiting
