The Pros And Cons Of Gun Control

Good Essays

Gun Control, a topic in Political Sciences that is controversial when brought up when a gun related incident happens such as a mass shooting, for example, the Newtown, Conn. Shooting has made some changes to gun laws such as a tighter background check, but at the same time, this also means that no matter how much we make acquiring guns harder, it also means that criminals will still be able to kill innocent civilians in other ways, such as this Halloween in New York, NY, a man ran over and killed people using a truck, so does this mean that we should enforce laws on everything else other than guns? Well, not exactly, for the way how I see gun control, it is like two sides of the same coin, you have one side that is beneficial, but the other side that isn't so beneficial to where it hurts the law abiding citizens and leaves them vulnerable to attacks caused by criminals, terrorists, etc. who want to cause harm to others. Those that say “All guns should be illegal” clearly have no idea on how serious the issue itself is. In this topic I will be talking about the pros and cons, the data and statistics, the well known shootings of this decade, and how some people say that our gun control should be like Australia's or France's. With every issue or topic comes with data and statistics, gun control has plenty of data that can be looked upon for research, or to make a better understanding on why people purchase firearms, or which group buys the most, or what are the most accidents
