Like Blaine, Cleveland and his running mate Governor Thomas Hendricks (Indiana) declared that he was a champion of the average working man. In a pamphlet, Facts for workingmen, Cleveland’s campaign referred to his record as a reformer during the first two years of his first term as governor of New York. In 1883, Cleveland created a bureau of labor statistics to compile information to be used for legislation that assisted the working class. He also passed a bill that established the Tenement House Commission to inspect tenements and to provide safe and healthy conditions. Moreover, in 1884, Cleveland signed a bill to protect the savings of “laboring men and women” in banks. Cleveland maintained that he was an honest man, independent of the

During this time period, the United States and Mexico went to war for the land. The Mexicans allowed the Americans stay as long as the followed these rule: they must follow their Catholic Religion, have no slaves working on their land, and they must obey the Mexican rules at all times. The Americans followed this until more and more Americans started to live there and started to break their rules. The Mexicans did not like this at all and they want to make sure they have an agreement on still on this land. Was this the right thing to do or could have the Mexicans do something different? I will be explaining this in the next few paragraphs.
Gentrification needs to stop. People’s lives have been adversely affected by higher income individuals moving into their neighborhood. It happens in really poor, neglected areas where rich suburban people move into those poor neighborhoods and change everything, supposedly making them better. While trying to “better” the community, the new property owners are knocking down houses in neighborhoods like East Austin with great historical value to build higher priced residences, raising the property value which makes low income families struggle to keep their heads above water.
Once upon a time, set in the 15th century in Medieval times off the coast of North America, there was a striving empire named Cleveland . This kingdom was the most exceptional dominion to have ever been assembled by man. It had luxurious pastures were their wondrous creatures fed on the freshly light green vegetation. They had gorgeous soil which they used for making the annual production of yellow corn and the juiciest citrus fruits. This farm made a production value of more than 1,400 crops per year and has only showed improvement in the past years. Acres of orchards with great juicy fruits that made a stomach roared in an instance. However not only their food and great farmland made this kingdom great, lit was the innovation of the people . This city was the first ever to invent the crossbow, which was a game changer in battle. Also they made cannons and defense mechanisms which kept his
Gentrification is the extensive process of rejuvinating a specific part of a city and or town that has been soddened with poverty and deterioration, due to an underlying neglect. These attempts at re-birth of a city are becoming more and more prevalent, so it draws out the overwhelming question, is it helpful or harmful to developing neighborhoods? Gentrification can not be topical with kitchy coffee shops where you pay for the ambience which includes pretty foliage potted in whimsical objects that are all being re-purposed, sitting on rustic wooden tables that are adorned with industrial furnishings. As well as the overpriced fair trade cup of coffee that the pretentious barista contrieves. And the ostentatious frozen yougurt shops will walls
Today in America, 34% of children are living with an unmarried parent. In 1960, only 9% were living in a single family household, and the number increased to 19% in the 1980s. Fewer than one-in-three children are living
The National Institute on Drug Abuse writes that an estimated 9% of marijuana users will eventually become dependent on marijuana (National Institute, 2014). The American Society of Addiction Medicine defines addiction as “a primary, chronic disease of brain reward, motivation, memory and related circuitry. Dysfunction in these circuits leads to characteristic biological, psychological, social and spiritual manifestations. This is reflected in an individual pathologically pursuing reward and/or relief by substance use and other behaviors” (American Society, 2011).

Middle Eastern Pop music is extremely popular. However, the dominant theme to most of the Pop songs is love and romance. Many believed that religious Pop music, which concentrates on faith and good human virtues, has a place in the market. Islamic Pop music is one of the best alternatives for the youth to drift their minds away from the forbidden content found in some Pop music. In addition, Islam was poorly portrayed in the media. Islamic Pop music plays a very significant role in correcting that image and changing people’s perspectives about Islam. Islamic Pop music is a combination of spiritual faith and modern ecstasy. It is the voice of the new generation that is characterized by meaningfulness, inspiration, and entertainment.
Chagrin Falls, Ohio is often referred to as a “bubble town” which accurately embodies its nickname. Having lived in Chagrin my entire life, I reluctantly agree with the Urban Dictionary definitions of “usually a small town where very few events of interest occur or a sheltered and naive place to live, where youth can't understand the cruelty of the real world because they're too sheltered by their protective bubble.” Reading our weekly town police blotter sheds light that a cat getting locked in a closet is big news and that this little town in Cuyahoga County is a bit isolated and ignorant to the outside world. This little town is all about the “Friday Night Lights” where our high school football team is the center focus having made multiple visits to the state championship. These facts transpire as the reason I try to defy this reputation. Despite the influence that one’s surroundings can hold over their life, I believe that this remains easy only with complacency. I have been one of two in my high school that have participated in nationwide golf tournaments. Incidentally, the second guy became involved by my lead. In addition, I have also been involved with the local Chagrin Falls Park Community Center to ignore the bubble that quarantines many people’s expectations of themselves.
