The Industrial Revolution was a movement that spanned from 1750 to 1830 it changed the life style of everyone in Great Britain for better and worse. Factories popped up all over towns bringing with it pollution and jobs for all. Populations skyrocketed in small towns turning them to crowded cities. More people took jobs from factories, earning more money, and finally being able to make a living. However, with more people moving to factories, more people left the farm life. In my opinion the Industrial Revolution was both good for us as well as bad. It helped us move forward in machinery, but the conditions and ways of life were horrible. The Industrial Revolution had just as many positive affects as it had negatives. With the factories there were more jobs open that were willing to pay better that the farming lifestyle did. More and more people moved to cities from far away for jobs in the factories. People could finally make a living and support their …show more content…

The Industrial Revolution was a dark time for everyone who lived through it. Children nor adults of the lower classes had education. If you were part of the upper class you were slightly better educated that the middle and lower class. Women were mainly hired in the textile factories, but there is no appeal to the job. Women were hunched over all day which led to back problems. They working from day break to sunset in rooms with no ventilation, poor lighting, with dangerous equipment for only 5 shillings a week. Women with long hair risked having it get caught in the machinery, only adding to how dangerous the jobs could be. Child labor was another huge problem. Children were hired and paid even less than the women and their working conditions were just as bad. Some were beat if they did the job too slow for the employers liking or if they arrived late to work. Families hardly saw each other due to the long strenuous hours
