CHRISTIANITY Claim Christianity claims that God sent his only son, Jesus Christ, to earth over 2,000 years ago to save humanity from sin. One of the main reasons Jesus was sent to earth was to preach the word of God and convert people into Christians. Jesus is the perfect human and was created in God’s image. Although Jesus is not God, God is Jesus. So for those few individuals that saw Jesus Christ have seen the face of God. Unlike other religions, Christians do not have to ponder about what God is like or what God expects of us, because we have the word of Jesus, and God is Jesus. Christians also claim that Jesus must be the son of God because he died for our sins and was resurrected by God. The resurrection of Christ should not be mistaken for resuscitation, since Jesus died on the cross, was placed in a tomb, and was brought back by God to a worshiped state of being. A task that could only be accomplished by the hand of God. The Christians claim that God resurrected Jesus after Jesus claimed to be the son of God proves either one of two things. The first is that Jesus is the son of God, liked he claimed. The second is that God resurrected a blasphemer, which is something God would never do (Ford CH. 8). Evidence and Logical Support for Your Claim The biggest piece of evidence for Christianity is the resurrection of Jesus Christ. Evidence for the resurrection is supported by the empty tomb, eyewitnesses, and the credibility of those eyewitnesses. The first piece of
Many people ridicule Christians for believing in a man who resurrected from the dead. They laugh at Christians and criticize them for basing their faith on an event that lack proof and evidence. However, the evidence that skeptics use to challenge the Christian faith, in actuality, support the claims that Jesus truly was the God that he claimed to be. The evidence that affirms Jesus’ claims to be true include his lifestyle and teachings, the prophecies that he fulfilled, historical facts, and the dramatic transformation of the lives of his disciples. Many may ask Christians how they can believe in a Savior without proof of his divinity; but, in reality, God has given us an abundance of signs. He is still providing us with compelling evidence
From the beginning of time, the existence of God or Gods has been researched and debated by theologians, religious philosophers, and many others for thousands of years. The Christian beliefs and practices included that Jesus is the central figure of Christianity, which is considered by almost all denominations. Christianity began as a part of Judaism in the 1st century CE and later separated in various religious groups. The Christian beliefs and practices included that Jesus is the central figure of Christianity, which is considered by almost all denominations. Although Christians do not believe in reincarnation, they do believe that man was created in the image of God’s as an. body form and a non-material soul or spirit. Furthermore, they do believe that your soul returns God the creator, then your sins are revisited and punished by the final resting place of heaven or hell.
He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God”(The Holy Bible). The history and the facts of Christ are very important to the Christian faith. If Christ had never been resurrected from the dead, then the whole Christian religion would be false (“History of Christianity”). 1 Corinthians 15:14 explains, “And if Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain”(The Holy Bible). The resurrection of Christ is extremely important to Christians, because the resurrection proves what they believe, giving purpose to their lives. “About 32 percent of people in the world, or 2.1 billion individuals, describe themselves as Christians. Some Christians believe that only those who are 'born again ' can claim to be Christians, which is why the number tends to fluctuate”(King).
There is a lot of evidence which point to the truth of Christianity. If the resurrection of Jesus truly occurred, then Jesus is God the son. If the resurrection did not occur, then he is not God the son.
Why did they wait until 100 pages into the book to write this chapter? Earlier in the book when they said that I might want to set down the book they were right. The resurrection account is one ingrained with rational analysis and textual affirmation or authentication, in the worldview of an advocate of Christianity. Besides major resources featuring eyewitness accounts of the resurrection of Christ, advocates are confident in the sacrificial deeds of the apostles following the crucifixion of Jesus. There can be no more clarification for the remarkable historic details that are accepted to be true except for the authenticity or evidence of the resurrection. The Christian worldview holds authenticity in expressing worthiness of the resurrection. With the death of the apostles as testimony, many are obligated to believe that Christ did in fact miraculously resurrect from the dead enabling many to possess a hope
If there is truth behind the statements of Jesus Christ, there must be some sign or piece of evidence that would help to back the authenticity of them. All throughout the Bible evidence is present. Christ repeatedly told His disciples about His divine relationship and even made prophecies that came to pass. But Christ’s actions spoke louder than His words. Christ performed many miracles during His lifetime. He made the blind see, the deaf hear, and the dead walk, things no ordinary man could achieve without some divine power or relation. Christ by His words and deed backed His statement that He was truly
Christianity is a religion based on the life and teachings of Jesus. Christians share a set of beliefs that are important to their faith, they believe that God created the universe, God is a single ruler, Jesus is the son of God, Jesus suffered and was crucified for our sins and Heaven and Hell. Christian’s believe that when Jesus died and was resurrected that they will be resurrected after they die and brought into the Kingdom of Heaven, they also believe that when Jesus was resurrected it was the
Just before Jesus’ crucifixion, he declared, “…In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world" (John 16:33 NIV). The promise of Christ’s resurrection is that, “the Christian has the power to overcome the devil, the world and the lust of the flesh” (Towns. 2002). I know that everyday in the social work field, I will feel the weight of the world pulling on me. Every clients story and new case will wreak my heart. The temptation to lash out those "responsible" or push myself to perform beyond my abilities will be great, but Jesus overcame this world. The resurrection of Jesus reminds me that it is his power and strength that guide me daily, not mine. "When speaking of the significance of the resurrection, the
I have heard that there are those who do not believe in the physical resurrection of Jesus, yet still profess to be Christians. I am not sure how they work all that out, but for me the physical resurrection, taken together with the death of Jesus on the cross and the Ascension, are fundamental to the belief that Jesus Christ is the Son of God. Part of the proof of who Jesus is comes from the Resurrection. As we read in the Gospel stories and in the opening chapter of Acts of the Apostles, the physical resurrection of Jesus was proof for the Apostles, Jesus’ closest friends, of who Jesus really is. I think it is also part of the proof we need to understand and believe who Jesus is.
Still, the resurrection of Jesus Christ has been under persistent attacks since the Apostolic age. Why? Because it is the central confirmation of Jesus' identity as the incarnate Son of God, and the ultimate sign of Christ's completed work of atonement, redemption, reconciliation, and salvation. Those who oppose
The Resurrection of Jesus the Christ validates who Jesus was and is. Jesus has, or had not been resurrected everything about Him is annulled. Furthermore, it invalidates who we are as followers of Christ; the passage where this truth is emphasized more than any other is in John’s writing of his account of the Gospel with the foretold and predictions of the righteous, unrighteous, and of Jesus’ own resurrection; John 5:24-29 . If one was to look in the Holman Christian Apologetic Study Bible (Holman 2003), they may see a note that is in reference and a prediction (or prophecy) of this passage of scripture that deals with Jesus (a person whom has already died an earthly death is in reference to Job) own resurrection, in which it is found in Job (19:23-27); the Scripture says,
When it comes to the resurrection of Jesus Christ there are many different theories on what actually happened. As Christians we believe what is said in the Bible, but sometimes our minds cannot help but wonder "what if". The legitimacy of the Bible regarding the resurrection of Jesus has been questioned time and again, what most do not realize is, there is proof that Jesus rose from the grave. With the empty tomb, eyewitnesses and the changed lives of the Disciples, we are able to prove that the resurrection of Jesus did indeed happened.
Jesus Christ was a spiritual and powerful man that sacrificed his own life for the sins of mankind. The death of Jesus Christ, was complete torture and it resulted in a wrongful, distasteful, and unbearable death that should’ve never happened to begin with. Although, Jesus sadly left this earth behind so soon because of all the cruel people who hated him and who didn’t respect him or his existence while he was on this earth whatsoever, Jesus still remained relevant. As I further engaged my knowledge about the death of Jesus Christ, I began to notice that there was a strong, detailed, and a powerful message behind his death that several people didn’t seem to catch on to. In the midst of his demise, he left a plethora of ideas and teachings for us to hold on to while living a life through Christ. Here are some important thoughts to think about and delve into. Jesus Christ taught us how to not be afraid of death and not to fear any other human being but God himself, although it promotes not fearing others but God himself it also promotes forgiveness. There is always a way to learn from mistakes to find a deeper meaning of happiness.
The Resurrection of Jesus the Christ validates who Jesus was and is. Stipulating whether Jesus has, or had not been resurrected as the Scriptures proclaim entirety, and all that was foretold, happened, and predicted about Him is annulled. Furthermore, it invalidates the Church and more importantly Christians that are followers of Christ.
