The Revelations of St. Gertrude After reading and exploring such a rich text as the Life and Revelations of St. Gertrude, a number of fascinating questions arise. Given the close personal relationship that St. Gertrude had with our Lord and the various insights that she was allowed to have, every word of each book of her revelations has something to teach the common person. Thus, it's definitely worth examining what one can do to live a life in more accordance with the values that she had and which she honored as she was so close to the Lord. However, the most overwhelming question that can be taken from the revelations of St. Gertrude is something along the lines of: what can these revelations tell us about the other side (about heaven, hell and purgatory)? Another question that organically arises is: what can these revelations tell us about how we should conduct our lives on earth to ensure that we pass on to heaven? These are really important questions because as mortals who try to be virtuous, it's up to us to try and do everything in our power to not only strengthen our connection with the Lord but to ensure that our souls are protected and go on to heaven. Examining the text closely to determine what it has to say about these exact issues are some of the most profound and decided gifts that it has to give us.
