Due to Hawk 's continuous screaming, Fitzgerald stabbed him right in front of Glass. When Bridger returned asking where Hawk was, Fitzgerald pretended nothing happened and played it off by asking, "He was not with you?" Bridger assumed he had run off. The next morning, Fitzgerald woke Bridger up and told him there were about 20 Ree down by the creek and they had to leave right away. Bridger insisted they must bury Glass first, but Fitzgerald did not want to. Fitzgerald drug Glass to the grave he had dug previously and threw some dirt on him. Bridger left a canteen with a symbol on it in his grave. The 2 men find their way back to their village to meet up with the other group and receive their pay of three-hundred dollars for looking after Glass and giving him the proper burial. By this time Glass had crawled out of his shallow grave and reached the nearest river where he had a run in with the Ree. He floated down stream for a ways and banked himself to build a camp for the night. Above him in a field there were a large group of buffalos running from a pack of coyotes. One of the Buffalo got killed by the coyote. That night Glass noticed a fire gleaming off of branches nearby and an Indian man whose tribe was killed by the Ree had found the Buffalo and was eating it. Glass crawled toward the man showing signs of being injured and the man gave him food. The next morning he told Glass he was to ride with him on his horse. The next day, the man stopped
My hand swung to my side, feeling the sharp stone puncture layers of skin and muscle. Wailing in agony as blood spurted out of the wound, I run towards nearby shelter. The shrill screams of dying men rip through the air, accompanied by the sounds of arrows whizzing through the air and the Indians whoop when they hit a target. Dizzy from pain and hunger, I lay in a more comfortable position, just hoping to survive this wretched attack. ”Why did I ever come here?” the thought pounded through my head. “Oh yeah, I remember why. Land. Money.” That irritating know-it-all voice answered. I hear feet pounding around me and realize that the Indians have gone inside the town. One enters the door and maliciously grins when he sees me. He runs toward me and my eyes widen with shock as the spear plunges down, and becomes closer and closer….
These Grandfathers presented Black Elk with gifts to help him on his journey. A wooden cup, a bow and arrows, a white wing of cleansing, an herb to heal, a sacred pipe a flowering stick and the power to make live and to destroy were the tools that were given to him. Then, the Grandfathers showed Black Elk what was to become of his people. He was shown a holy tree which once had been flowering and was now gone. The people he was supposed to lead were thin and starving, and Black Elk cried as he saw the fate of his people.
The genre I chose to review for the month of October was an American Movie, The Revenant. Directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu this film is set in 1823 in Montana and South Dakota and the main character is Hugh Glass played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Hugh Glass is a frontiersman who is half Native-American and has a Native American son named Hawk. The movie revolves around his struggles as a father and his comeback after being attacked by a bear and almost dying, losing his son, and being left behind by his own men. In the end a Native American chief kills the man who killed Glass’s son. The last scene show Glass falling to his knees and seeing a vision of his dead wife walking into the light and then Glass’s eyes fill up with tears. I decided to review

He woke up the next day, and had to get rid of all the leftover pieces of Zaroff that the dogs could not eat. Then he realized that Zaroff still had the dogs, then he thought of killing the dogs or he if he could use him to do things in the house. He walked with the dogs to the basement and told them ‘’they all could be let go and fed.’’ They find a girl where they both are wondering why she was hunting here. She said she was traveling to her friends, and she wanted to know what this area was so she came and checked it out.
After a rough night, Billy and his team went back to the camp with several coon skins. Because of his dogs determination and loyalty even through a blizzard, Billy won the competition. During the hunt, Old Dan and Little Ann tracked down a mountain lion. They would not give up the hunt until the lion was dead. While saving Billy's life, Old Dan and Little Ann were wounded very badly. Even though Billy and his parents did their best to treat Old Dan and Little Ann's wounds, Old Dan did not make it long after the hunt. Shortly after Old Dan's death, Billy buried him. So when the sun was just about to go down you could feel the rumble of the ground shake. Almost as if it was an earthquake. The buffalo bull had brought his whole herd, the herd surrounds the brothers and the sister into a circle. The brothers moved close to a tree, and the sister followed. The buffalo had spoken to the sister and said, “Now that I brought my people here, would you marry me?” Again the sisters' answer was no. So the bull got angry and started to charge at the girl. Right before the bull could get her the brothers grabbed her and they climbed up to the top of the tree. When the bull saw them pull her up, he started hitting the tree with all his might, shaking it, as if it was the tree was going to fall over. Just as they reached the top and could not go any further, the tree started to grow. It grew so far up that when they looked down, they could see everything. The tree took them up into the sky, and when they started to appear towards the clouds they dismounted off the tree, and they all stood there looking at each
The Revenant is a very long and very intense movie. In the blockbuster, Leonardo DiCaprio plays Hugh Glass, a seemingly indestructible savage machine. Glass survives the impossible on more than one occasion. In three scenes in particular, Glass is put through a climatic, thrilling situation. The first scene is in a misty forest where Glass finds himself alone when he stumbles upon bear cubs and soon after is nearly mauled to death by the mother bear. He escapes death when he was able to pull out his knife to kill the bear. Consequently, he is now in critical condition and is not able to walk, move, or even talk. The next mind-blowing scene, Glass just rode his horse off a cliff while a blizzard encroaches him. His horse did not survive the fall and the only thing to help Glass stay alive was his knife so he used it to gut the horse completely hollow then Glass removed all of his clothes and crawled inside the horse to wait use its body heat to protect him from the harsh snow storm. Finally, the thought-to-be climax of the movie, Glass finds the man who murdered his son while he helplessly watched, and Glass kills him in a long, bloody exchange of gunshots and knife wounds and ultimately drags him in the nearby ice cold stream

They went their separate ways and went home to share the wonderful news with their wives. The wives of the 4 men were ecstatic. Billy’s wife threw a little get together that night to celebrate. As they all sat around the table talking fast and with excitement they all decided what to do now, seeing only a 1,000 dollars with 5 men and there 5 wives would not last forever. So they all trudged off to work the next day hoping to find more. They searched all day and even stayed until after their work was already done, but no luck. When they got home all they could do was just go to bed. The next morning they did the same thing and the day after that and the day after that, but nothing. They were about to give up when Sam came running across the river with his fists tight in balls. They all surrounded each other while Sam opened his fists slowly. It was gold! They took it to the same guy and they all jumped in glory finding they had just found over $7,000. They all went to Billy’s house again and had another little celebration. They all sat down in a circle and discussed their future. After a long time deciding they decided to move to the middle of California and settle down seeing now they were
