ALPFA is more than just a student organization, it is a community centered around developing individuals of different backgrounds into professionals that will shape the course of business. The people that I have met through ALPFA have become some of the closest friends that I have, to the point that I consider most them as a second family. It provides a network of kind and diverse individuals who are there mentor the new generations to be able to enter the workforce. One such example, is Lori Ruff, an enthusiastic individual and the SVP of Membership for ALPFA, whom I have had the pleasure to work with and learn from, as well as sought advice from once during a difficult situation. Other notable examples include: Alan Colberg the CEO of Assurant,
FBLA membership has benefitted me because I can truly say it led me to my career choice. Junior year I had the opportunity to participate in the SBE Program at the Ste. Genevieve Care Center. By being a part of this program, I was required to join FBLA. Although FBLA was an organization I had wanted to join for a while, I needed a push to get involved in the club. Being involved in this club was one of the greatest decisions I have made during my high school career. My first year in the organization, I competed in the straight to state event, Social Media Campaign. Due to this participation, I attended the District Leadership Conference where I was a timekeeper and the State Leadership Conference, where my partner and I presented our project. The State Leadership Conference was a memorable event as it was different than any other conference I had attended before. That year I also served on multiple committees and assisted in the decorating of the Senior Citizen’s Christmas Dinner.

Throughout my high school career, I have been involved in various clubs and organizations to help me become a leader in my community. At Auburn High School I took on the role of being a Publicist officer for National Technical Honors Society the first two consecutive years that it became a part of our school. I gained a lot of leadership experience through this club. Implementing a new organization is never easy and takes a lot of hard work and dedication from the leaders of the club. By being a part of a very helpful, dedicated and motivated team, we helped affiliate all the eligible members into the club and in turn helped introduce this new club to the school. As publicist my role in helping the club grow was crucial; I helped in publicizing the clubs various projects and involvement.
As the Business Professionals of America (BPA) emblem represents the fundamental ideals of ambition, leadership, sociability, and poise, I believe that I am fully qualified and have the experiences and skills necessary to execute the office of being Middletown High School’s Business Professional of America’s chapter president. This is not due to my academic achievements, nor the connections that I have with others chapters and prominent individuals in the state, but it is because of the pure ability that I want to rise the fundamental qualities in our members and provide them with the necessary opportunities. We can achieve this through building our connections with other chapters, volunteering with other major organizations, and fundraise
In addition, the FFA means leadership and that is one thing I am for. Leadership leads to organization and that's key. Leadership is one thing that want to learn more about because I'm always trying to find ways to be a better leader. Whenever there's a time for leadership I will try and have an input in it. Without leadership the world wouldn't be the way it is.
I have demonstrated excellence In leadership by being in Future Business Leaders of America ever since I was in my freshman year. I became secretary my freshman year, vice president my sophomore year, and will have acquired the privilege of becoming President my senior year. Being in FBLA has helped me not only grow as a member, but as a leader. Throughout my growth inside the club, I have been able to encourage others to join extracurricular activities, developing my interpersonal skills. Community service has also been a major part of my High School career. Whether it’s first preparing and painting the posters for an activity we are having, to being in charge of a fundraising event, my goal has always been to try to impact the community breaking
The FFA is definetly one of the younger organizations in the U.S. But, throughout the last ten years, it has delivered a tremendous impact to students, teachers, and the nation along with it’s future.
I have participated in many clubs where group work and leadership is a necessity: Model United Nations, First Class Leaders, Mu Alpha Theta, and National Honor Society. In these clubs, as well as in everyday life, I have been afforded the opportunity to share my values, listen to other’s opinions, and come together to find how we can share our values and ideas. However, my outreach and voice has been far more impactful in Mu Alpha Theta, a Math National Honor Society, and First Class Leaders where I gratefully serve on the Executive boards. I have organized many opportunities that have inspired members to commit philanthropic acts for tremendous charities, and in accordance there are numerous people that have received items that bring security
Even so, while both of those organizations presented excellent strategies and opportunities for networking and advancement as an Information Technology professional, I chose to become a member of two different groups. The first of these was the Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA). BDPA drew my interest for membership because of the organizations focus on diversity for IT professionals. As a minority person, who lives and works in a community with a large Latin and Caribbean populations, diversity is an important part of my everyday experience, as such, I was interested in join an organization
I’ve been part of the Fillmore Central FFA Chapter for 6 years. Since then I have participated in many CDEs including Dairy Judging and Dairy Foods. I have also held many officer positions, such as Reporter, Treasurer, Vice President, and President. FFA has taught me leadership and dedication. In order to be successful in life you must give your all toward everything you do. Without dedication today's agriculture and other industries wouldn’t be possible. Leadership propels organizations forward and creates new possibilities
I participate in both African Student Organization Club and Health Occupations of America. I enjoy being part of the African Student Organization because it allows me to take pride in my heritage while also becoming educated in my culture. I have been able to meet more people who share the same ancestry and culture as me while teaching others who would like to become more cultured. The club is also great with volunteering so I'm also able to help my community and share my knowledge with them as well. I joined Health Occupations Students of America my junior year of high school, and I am extremely proud of that decision. I have always been interested in the medical field and while in high school, I chose to focus on that passion, and in the
What do all these people have in common? We all use their technology, drink their coffee, and eat their delicious burgers. And, they have been great leaders of awesome organizations. We also have had some great leaders at First Avenue. Now I am asking for your vote to become an ASB member. What makes all those great people above so successful? They have the same qualities that I can bring to our school. I am asking you to take a step back and think about what qualities you are looking for in an ASB. Are you looking for somebody who is smart and enthusiastic? A person who is open-minded and ready to take your suggestions? Somebody who is a strong, a hard worker? If
Founded in 2015, the goal of the organization is to reach a quota yearly of finances to build education facilities and wells for war torn countries in the Middle East as well as provide meals and hygiene products for the local poverty in the Santa Clara County. SJSU Afghan Student Association raised $10,000 in 2016 by Utilizing food drives, fundraisers, sponsors and co-partnering with other
Like I mentioned above I was able to make a connection with Metropolis Management, and the owner of this company was the presenter of my education session. Once the educational session was over I could go to him and talk about how well the education session helped open my eyes, and we were able to expand on our relationship. Although this did not happen for every single educational session, but I was able to something out of every single educational session that I attended. One of the most important things that I took out of the educational session was that ‘students do not join organizations they join people’. When I heard this in my educational session, I was just shocked, I guess I always knew that this was the reason but I could never put it into words. One way that I am going to use this from here on out is when I am trying to recruit students, I going to try and form a friendship with them first and then tell them about the opportunities that our organization gives other students. Another thing that I got out of my experience from the education sessions at NACA was the process that agents go through. This was very helpful seeing the other side of things because I know what goes on and what needs to be done on my side, so it was nice learning about what the agents need to get done. I feel like from here on out I will be more understanding of what the agents are
Student personnel point of view encompasses the student as a whole. The concept of education is broadened o the student’’s well rounded development- physically, socially, emotionally and spiritually as well as intellectually. (sppv) Student affairs not only emphasize on academic excellence but to shape each individual as a unique human by providing a holistic learning and living environment. Student Affairs professionals play a pivotal role in the development of the students. By applying different theories in student development, they can foster student learning to help them shape their identity. Student affairs staff members must view themselves as educators to refute the belief that learning is held only in the classroom. (contested issue, 29). Learning does not only occur in the classroom but through out of class activities as well. Student affairs staff should talk about student learning and development to enhance the multiplicity of growth areas for students in higher education. These learning and development experiences do not simply happen to students. They happen with their active involvement. There are numerous branches of fields in student affairs that attend to the unique needs of each individual.
