Technology advancements have played an enormous role in society. One example of technology that has been used universal is the computer. The computer has unquestionably impacted popular culture in America. After the Industrial Revolution, the computer age developed. The Computer Age (also known as the Information Age) was a period in human history where new forms of research, work and communication developed in the United States. From the beginning of the decade, to the end, advancements in the computer have greatly changed American society from what life was like before by impacting the fields of science, education, and business. As the Industrial Revolution came to an end in 1840, the Computer Age originated. The Industrial Revolution greatly altered every aspect of popular culture in America. Once the computer age began, people started thinking about their troubles critically. The Computer Age can be characterized as a consistent string of evolving technological products. Many technological changes generated new options in the twentieth century. Nearly, forty years had passed in the twentieth century before the first electronic computer came along. In fact, in 1939, John Atanasoff designed the first electronic computer, known as the Alanasoff-Berry Computer (ABC).
