Artists all around the world use music as an escape from reality and as a way to express how they are feeling. In the book Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, the feelings of love, heartbreak,and disaster are expressed the clearest. There is an immense amount of artists in the world who sing about those same three emotions. The songs of these artists can relate perfectly to the themes, conflicts, and scenes in Pride and Prejudice. The five songs that best relate to this book are The Scientist by Coldplay, I Believe in You by Michael Buble, Billionaire by Bruno Mars, Knock you Down by Keri Hilson and lastly Girls just wanna have fun by Cyndi Lauper. The song Girls Just Wanna Have Fun by Cyndi Lauper relates greatly to the aesthetic of these girls. The lyric, “Girls just wanna have fun” describes just how the two girls wanted to live their lives. Throughout the whole book these two girls are always going out trying to make the best of their life. They are both obsessed with the soldiers so whenever they get the chance they run into town to see them all. They are extremely ignorant and the total embarrassment of their family. The lyric,” I come home in the morning light My mother says when you gonna live your life right” can relate to Lydia running away with Wickham. By running away she put her family in great danger. The stupid mistake could have ruined her family's reputation. Her mom was extremely worried about her and embarrassed about her actions. The only way to clear her family's name was to pay him 1000 a year to marry her and on top of that Mr.Darcy even paid for a majority of the money Wickham wanted.
