The Secret Society of Deers
By Brenty boo times thomes
It was midnight in those exiting spooky, witching days before Halloween. I was snuggled under my covers dreaming of jack-o-lanterns and candy, when I was rudely awakened by my dog, Bear. He was growling low in his throat and I don't mind telling you that it scared me...just a little
"Quiet boy!" I said. Bear jumped off the bed and ran from the room. I could hear him scratching and pawing at the front door. Throwing off my covers, I started to follow but dad ordered me back to bed. "It's probably nothing" he said "I'll check it out and be right back". I sat on my bed and listened, but now I didn't hear anything at all. Not Bear, not Dad, nothing what was going on out there? When I couldn't

I guess I was just making things up so I went back inside. I got under the covers again and Bear hopped up on the bed too and went to sleep. CRASH! I immediately woke up startled by the noise I nearly fell off the bed. Bear woke up too, he started barking but I covered his mouth quick enough so he wouldn't wake dad up. I tiptoed down the hall and said, "hello" to make sure someone was there I didn't hear anything so I went down the stairs into the kitchen. I saw that a window was open and the vase in front of the window was broken and pieces of it where scattered in front of the table. I shut the window and then I bent down to pick up the broken vase when i saw a brick with a note on it. It read,
Dear, David You where the chosen one and we want you to come to the end of the river and in the mountain to find us make sure your not followed. From, the

I found a leash and put it on Bear's collar. I followed the deer's directions but I didn't see an entrance to the mountain. I felt the walls for hidden keys or something I didn't find anything. After a while a group of deers ran over to the mountain and one deer knocked on the mountain with there antlers. A small part of the mountain slides open and the deers signal me to go inside. Bear started to bark at the deers so I tied the end of the leash to a branch from a log. I slowly walked inside trembling as the deers looked at me and stared. The mountain closed behind me with the deers inside there were dozens of other Forrest animals in the cave too. A raccoon walked up to me and said, "hello
One morning, a baby deer awoke to the unusual sounds of a foreign forest, it’s curiosity hit him. The fawn sat up in confusement to find himself surrounded by an unusual forest with small eyes staring at him from behind the bushes. He was quite confused on why he wasn’t at home, he looked around and glanced at the glaring green eyes shining from the bushes nearby. The fawn got up on it’s weak hind legs, and walked along the dusty, old path. He was unsure on why there were so many eyes on him, and how he had gotten here. The youngin heard booming footsteps approaching him, he saw a dark, yet gleaming shine of light speeding towards him.
When we got to the top floor, Jon told me to be quiet because he had thought he heard something. We turned our flashlights off, and stood very still. We didn’t know if we were about to be face to face with a cop, a hobo, or maybe even Big Foot. After we had stood there for about 30 seconds I thought I heard scratching. I turned the flashlight on, and there he was, the biggest raccoon I had ever seen. We had to get doors from the second floor and did not want to deal with the raccoon, so Jon began chasing the raccoon with a screwdriver. At this point, I had no idea what to do so I just followed Jon and the raccoon with my flashlight. The raccoon ran down the stairs and out the door. After all the excitement, we decided to quickly get the doors loaded up and
As we were leaving at dusk to head back to camp after not seeing anything just up the valley from us we heard two shots and later found out that in the area we first started in that morning another person got a moose. The next day we went out at about the same time as the day before and went to a new spot. When we arrived there we walked for about an hour and then stopped because we thought we could hear something down the hill from us moving in the brush. Sure enough it was a moose but it was very hard to see and i couldn’t get a shot at it. We only got a glimpse of it for a few seconds and then it was gone. It is crazy how such a big animal can just disappear like it did without any sign. After that we kept going and the only other sign we saw that day was a shed from the year before that had been partially eaten by mice. We went home after that and the next couple of days were very much the same. Then it came to our final day of the hunt. We woke up very early that morning determined and excited to go to a spot we had to been to yet. We got to the new spot and hiked for about an hour before we came to a fresh trail where a moose had not passed through more than a few minutes before us. We most likely scared the animal as we were approaching the trail. We
I jump and scream. As I get half way through the Woods I trip on root coming out of the ground. Scrapes are covering my knee, blood gushing! I limp my way through the woods tripping and falling as I go. I finally see the backyard of my house, but first have to get through the neighbor's yard. Hopefully that angry dog is locked up! I think to myself! But as I reach the neighbors yard I see the vicious, angry, horrifying dog standing there with his slobber all over his mouth Just staring at me. “Nice doggy” I said sweetly. But it doesn't work. He comes chasing at me only couple yards away! “ Bruno!” Yells the neighbors owner.”Stop this instant!” Bruno goes walking toward the man slowly. “Kenal! Now!” Bruno walks past me growling while walking toward his kenal. “Sorry about that,” says the owner. “Here i’ll help you home.” He says sweetly. As we approach the door, my mother opens it quickly. “What happened? Are you ok?” “Yeah.” I reply. “Well thank you!” “ No problem.” says the man. When I walk inside mom quickly cleans up my knee and sends me straight to bed. As I lay in bed I think of all the crazy things I did today. This was a day I would never
This chapter begins with Jack still playing baseball with his team, but that doesn't last long. Soon, his mother is there and chases him around the bases until she grabs him and drives him home. The only thing she said to him was when she threw him in his room. Right before the door slammed shut she shouted YOUR GROUNDED at the top of her lungs and stomped away.
Jim here, Uncle Jim some call me. My story from several deer hunting years back goes like this: I have a saying about shooting at deer. You sight your gun in and make sure it hits where it should. So I am usually late gettin’ this done. I have a Thompson Center 54 cal. muzzleloader. Usually shoots right on so I was not to worried about it being right on. So the evening before deer season opened took my target to a safe shooting spot set up sandbag and thought I would shoot about 2 times to make sure it was still on. I had ten 54 cal. bullets. I have always said you better make your first shot count so if it takes nine in the target so be it. Well I shot 9 shots all over the target and could not get it sighted in. Gave up went to put my gun in the truck and the front fell off. Found the problem of not a good group of shots. Too late to get any more loads so I called a friend and said I should meet him on the hill where I am going to hunt and borrow a bullet from him. That problem solved, back to my front sight. Well I put my sight on my gun centered it on the barrel and scotch taped it.
With all of the cracks in the ceiling of your bedroom, you can see the stars at night and the sun in the morning. With all of the old rotted hardwood floors, you hope to stay in that room until the morning and not end up in the room below you. At night you start to stare around your room as you fall asleep, then you see a splatter of blood on the wall and you get up and check behind the door and see HELP written all in blood. And at the vent there’s tons of blood leading down it. Then you hear a noise come from the room below, and when you go and see whats making the noise, there’s a girl in a chair and shes all tied up. Then you realize, that girl in the chair is your daughter. Right after you untie her the window bursts wide open with
And then I saw that kid that I fought laying on the ground so I picked him up and ran with him on my back. There was a little clinic that I dropped him off in and kept on running to my apartment.I get to my apartment and I forgot my key in the people's truck. So I picklocked a door got my old skateboard and went back to the parking lot and the truck was gone and I was scared out of my torn up shorts.I can't get the key back unless I pay 200 dollars.I went to the little clinic to see if the boy was there with his parents, but there was a large hole in the wall that looked like a truck.I was looking at the doctor and asked “where did they go”?
As I looked around, I saw three decrepit coffins in the backyard, opened, with three bodies in them: one for Mr. Johnson, Mrs. Johnson, and one for the dog. I thought to myself, “are they dead? Have they been murdered?” I really did not know, but as I walked passed the coffins to get my ball, I saw Mr. Johnson’s chest rise and fall. I was freaked out, so I snached my ball and ran over to the fence and climbed for my life. After I made it to the other side, I told all of the boys about my horrifying experience. They did not believe me at first, but one by one, they looked over the fence to see the living graveyard. Even after March 10th, we were still in astonishment to see the Johnson family sleep in their coffins at night. We eventually came to terms with the weird occurrence, but we did not know why the dog never attacked us on the first day that we went over to the Johnson’s. So one day, we went over to
Close to the twilight of the day, I was coming out of my deer stand with a eight point buck I just killed, and all of a sudden I come up on a black bear with sharp teeth and claws. It wanted my deer, but I took off running to my truck, but the bear tracked me down and took me back to his cave.
Guns were never a significant part of my childhood. At least, that was how it was until I saw the innocent life of a deer taken by the quick blow of hunting rifle.
Setting. We were heading home after 2 days of living in our cabin the size of a garage that include indoor plumbing electricity and a really small kitchen. We were living the high life!
When i got home from school the next day, I walked into the kitchen with black and white tiles, I was skipping the white ones and only stepping on the black ones like the game “ Don’t Step On The White Tiles.” There was water dripping from the sink as if someone had just done the dishes, I go over to the little white counter that goes up to my waist, it has a chipped corner from people running into it, and or dropping stuff on it. My dog was sleeping under it.. Then i look up and expect to see a orange and black jack-o-lantern with a black grim smile, and black eyes. The reason why i was so excited to see it was because all the candy was in there. But… IT WAS NOWHERE TO BE SEEN!!! There was only just a sour sucker, some Warheads and a Lemon Head. These very few pieces of candy we're on the black, white, and brown little piece of marble by the toaster. But later on that day, I asked what
as he neared the stream something caught his eye. There was an adorable black bear cub -a small creature, no more then two feet tall. It seemed o play at the edge of the water.Grady moved closer to get a better look. then Grady heard a rustling behind him. he remembered that the cub could not be along. He looked up and saw its mother . As he seen the mother bear, not knowing where to go so he just kept on running past bushes and trees. So then all he heard was the bear roaring in the trees, and bird flying out of trees ,so he said to himself"Run Grady run". But as he was running he saw a cave and he ran into it. So 5 minutes in the cave he had notice that bear's stayed in caves so he had remembered that bear sleep in caves and he forgot the
Eventually the deer wound it’s way through the woods and saw a path. It decided to take a break and see if the boy was still following. When it looked back, it saw the boy on the trail, coming towards the deer. So the deer started sprinting to get away from the boy. Eventually it stopped hearing footsteps behind it and took
