The purpose of the report is to present to the Senate Economics References Committee on carbon risk disclosure. Five areas which will have to be taken under consideration are current and emerging international carbon risk disclosure frameworks, current carbon risk disclosure practices within corporate Australia, Australian involvement in the G20 Financial Stability Board discussion on carbon risk impacts for financial stability, current regulatory and policy oversight of carbon risk disclosure across government agencies and other related matters using relevant scholarly research literature journals to support the contents of the report. The analysis pointed out Australia being one of the most carbon producing country will have to allow regulations and policies to be implemented to curb the rising carbon emission such as Carbon Taxing and Carbon Trading. According to the relevant analysis, a couple of recommendations been derived in relevance to legitimize corporate social and environmental disclosures via social contract and natural rights. Each government plays a vital role around the globe in producing effective elements on policies and regulation to promote an eco-friendly environment and efficient way of using resources.
