The book “The 7 Habits Of Highly Effective People” is a really interesting book. This makes you think about how you are as a person and wonders if you are doing things right or if you are even doing anything about it. It makes you think about whether or not you are an effective person. The seven habits gives you a different perspective about life, your relationship with others, and a deeper understanding on what it really means to be an effective and proactive person. I am not only trying to change myself on the inside but I also have to change myself on the outside. Covey (2004) discusses about the four dimensions of renewal that include: the physical, mental, spiritual, and social/emotional dimensions (p. 300). It is cleansing my spiritual dimension by meditating with peace or with God, or just rethinking about what my values and goals are in life. It is renewing my physical dimension by eating the right foods, working out, and taking care of my body. It is continuing to learn new things and being open to new ideas to renew my mental dimension. Lastly, it is communicating effectively, synergizing, and creating relationships with people to enhance my social/emotional dimension. Renewing myself can change my perspective on life, how I perform at work and at school. It can change my attitude and my confidence in myself. However, I need to work on the four dimensions in a balanced way. I must retain balance and make sure that I am working on the renewal of the four dimensions because if I do not have balance, I will have difficulty in accomplishing the renewal of another
