The novel ‘The Silver Donkey’ that was written by Sonya Hartnett, is a book about the protagonist Lieutenant Shepard, two girls named Marcelle and Coco find a soldier in the woods and the girls decide to take their time to take care of him. Every day they bring food to him and then try to get him home to his ‘sick’ brother. ‘The Silver Donkey’ is a very interesting novel. Does Lieutenant have a brother? Is Coco worthy of the silver donkey or should Fabrice have earned it? What traits does Hazel have and what does she do?
There are many characters who are worthy of the silver donkey but Fabrice is the most worthy out of all of them.
Fabrice is the most worthy of the silver donkey over anyone in the book because he was the one who got Lieutenant
I believe that El Pachuco is Henry conscience , because Henry listen to whatever he says.Pachuco make the story .El Pachuco helps him do the right decisions. Out of all the story El Pachuco is the main person to be focused on.
When I read the notes, I got an idea of comparison of Janie and the mule. Like the mule, Janie is doing whatever her husband like without questioning. She first married without her choice reveals that the mule didn’t choose her owner. Even she became the wife of the mayor in her second marriage, she treated as mule. I definitely agree with that Janie feels sympathy for the mule because she treated like the mule by her husband. Even though she didn’t want to go to the store, she would go because she didn’t have any power to object him. Like Matt Bonner’s mule, she always obeyed Jody. She restricted by her husband what to do and do not. He didn’t allowed her to speak in public and to left her hair open. Janie didn’t oppose him rather she accepted
Another reason why grace should be the MVP is because she is great with the dogs. Grace in the beginning of the book she wasn’t that good with the dogs but over time she became better. In chapter 21 the dogs were working as a team, and they became faster than the ponie. This is important because this shows that the dogs can haul the supplies and still make it to camp on time. This can be helpful because then the dogs can haul more supplies. Another reason why Grace should get the MVP award.
9.The main theme in this section still follows even deeper with the monsters saying that theres more to him than being a monster.
I chose the artwork “Kelly and the Red Horse” to represent the cultural frame. This detailed piece of Australian art shows the outback, mountains, skies and trees. It also falls under the cultural frame because of its mountainous, Australian scenery. The cultural qualities of this painting is what makes it fall under this category.
In the Red Dog and The Turning, the theme of loss is an issue used to shape meaning on the idea of change using specific language choices; the way in which the two themes are seen by the audience to convey the meaning of change. The two texts use the theme of loss to shape meaning of change. In red dog, the scene where john dies depicts a huge loss for the people around him, strengthening the theme of change portrayed to the audience. Vanno, Red Dog (2011) – “Noooo!”. We see that Vanno is obviously affected by the loss of john, after his motorcycle ran off the road, signifying a huge change to Vanno’s life, and the people around him, especially Nancy. “But the blitz truck was gone and the tractor, too.’’- The Turning (2004). Loss is depicted when Melanie leaves the beach campsite to go back to the farm with her family. The audience sees a change in Billy’s attitude, it changes the way he thinks, and impacts the rest of the story. The authors of the two texts use specific language to better portray the theme of loss. Not only in dialog, but visually. An example of this would be the death of red dog. The audience sees the effect of the passing of red dog, as they are all depressed and emotional. ‘’You’re home now boy’’-Nancy, Red Dog (2011), the audience sees the effect of losing Red Dog in Nancy’s voice, a specific language that Kriv Standers used to portray a more powerful meaning of change to the audience, using the theme of loss to strengthen this idea. This idea is further strengthened by the use of context, as Dampier is a small town with a tight community, the loss of a character will cause a huge change to the story, and we see this in Red Dog and The Turning.
In the book Journey of Crazy Horse written by Joseph. M. Marshall III, we learn about a man who draws on a Native American oral tradition to carefully unfold the life of Crazy Horse as a storyteller would. The result is a vivid biography that acknowledges the author's boyhood hero. With more than 300 pages, you learn a lot about Crazy Horse in this book. You can learn about Crazy Horse, the man who "reluctantly answered the call to serve".
Moreover, he also signifies his loyalty to his uncle, which is another heroic trait he owns that defines heroism.
"I grew day by day, more moody, more irritable, more regardless of the feelings of others" (Poe 671). Poe had a very complicated relationship with transcendentalism, and you can clearly see this rocky relationship in two of his works. One of these works is "The Black Cat". A brief summary of this short story; the narrator of this story is an insane man who knows he's about to die. The story talks about a cat that he used to have, named Pluto. He was very close to the cat until he starts to abuse his wife and other animals. The cat no longer likes the narrator, then the cat gets hung. While this happens the narrator's house burns down. Later a new cat comes alone, much like Pluto, and at first, he has a close relationship with this cat. Once it's noticed the cat only has one eye, he hates the cat. Later the narrator strikes his wife on the head with an axe, and hides her body. What he didn't know is while burying the body of his wife, the cat ends up with her. The police then show up just to look around, and the cat starts making noise. The police hear this and break down the wall, and here they find the cat and the man's dead wife. The other literary work that refutes transcendentalism is the poem "Annabel Lee". A condensed summary of that poem; the narrator of the poem, and Annabel Lee fell in love while they are young. Even after Annabel Lee passes, the narrator does not give up on the love they shared. After reading "Annabel Lee" and "The Black Cat", it is clear that Poe denies many concepts of transcendentalism. In looking for the answers to life's questions, Poe relies on the idea that human intuition is harmful. The narrator in "Annabel Lee" alludes to this selfish intuition when his obsession with himself and the idea of love causes him to lose his Annabel Lee. Then again in "The Black Cat", he focusses purely on finding answers within the dark. Transcendentalist does not believe in a dark intuition, they like to look at nature and its light side for the answers to life's questions.
Edgar Allan Poe, the acclaimed poet, has created a multitude of short stories, one being “The Black Cat”.The short story depicts an alcoholic on his slow descent into insanity; this relates heavily to the author’s own life, being an extreme alcoholic himself. The narrator of “The Black Cat” is not only driven mad by alcohol, but also by a black cat, as you might guess from the title of the story. At the beginning of “The Black Cat”, you can tell the narrator’s alcohol addiction is taking its toll when he starts abusing his wife and pets. His actions slowly led up to him killing his cat, Pluto, and then killing his own wife because tried to defend their second cat from him. His meticulous writing style, diction, syntax, and imagery in his short stories are used to portray his emotions.
Of all the characters, Harold Lauder is probably the most interesting and developed in the whole story. His personality changes drastically
Eventually, Caleb becomes the senex because he aids the dreamer, Ava, out of the research facility. However, Ava deserts Caleb locked in the “prison” she just escaped from, which ends the relationship the dreamer has with the senex in a questionable way. To continue, for every protagonist, there must be an antagonist.
All of these main characters shared a lot of common attributes. The first and most important attribute was trying to overcome multiple

Within us, we have the dark and the bright side. We do the good, but have evil thoughts and some people act on it, thinking it may drag them to feel good in doing so. This informative short-story provides a perfect example on how we take control of our mind. Edgar Allan Poe, the author of “The Black Cat”, develops the central idea that violence solves problems. On the eve of an unnamed narrator’s death, he writes a story of how his life collapsed, turning around his love for everybody and falling into a big pile of a hopeless mess and madness by committing brutal actions.
