Controversies On Who Is The Ultimate Superpower Even though there are many superpowers, only one state can be the ultimate superpower. While few believe America is not the ultimate superpower anymore, America to this day, rules the world in every aspect. In fact, the definition of a superpower states, a state powerful enough to influence events throughout the world. For instance, the United States’s military is the most superior in the world and will be for a long time. Superpower status is established through several, measured criteria, one is the strength of its military. In fact, the United States spends the most out of every state in the world. The next closest that can be compared to the United State’s military is China. One statistic shows that, “The US accounts for 37% of global military spending, and spends more than four times what China, the world’s No. 2 spender, does on its military” (Bremmer). This shows that even though America has been reducing their military during Obama’s presidency, it is still the most superior military in the world. Another major stat prove how the United States military is more powerful than China and the rest of the world, “China has less than 500 Type 99 thanks...we have 8,700 Abrams...we have 10 aircraft carriers...everyone else has 10. Combined...there are 8,400 helicopters in the world. The U.S. has 6,400 of them” (Quora). This particular stat shows the actual military force of the United States army compared to the rest of
