The Ted Talk Klinkenborg Analysis

Humans are the most complicated creatures to ever live.They can learn and study planets that are 100 million miles away, but they do not realize the small details in their daily life surroundings. when we first started talking about this project, I did not understand what it meant or what I should write about in my essay, until we went outside to take pictures of stuff that we see everyday around the campus but just noticed for the first time. I found out that I walked around a lot of interesting things but just realizing them now. Like the fist symbol by the library or the secret garden that is by my calculus class. The readings for this project helped me understand the meaning of how we (humans) ignore the details and love to just see the stuff that matters for us and that is it. Klinkenborg in his paper about light pollution said, “We've lit up the night as if it were an unoccupied country, when nothing could be further from the truth. Among mammals alone, the number of nocturnal species is astonishing” (243). He talks about how we human forget about other species which live with us on the same planet and that we just care about ourselves and think that the humans only one that matters. They are both caused by humans, who only care about themselves and want to feel better by making other suffer, even if they do not mean it. Light pollution hurts a lot of animals that lives among us and hurt the planet itself but it also hide the stars and make humans feel like they only exist on this planet and that there is no one else living among us or anyone who might be living in other planets. Stereotypes is a way to make people feel like I am better than that specific person just because I do not like him than maybe I am a better of a person than he
