The Truth About Child Abuse In today’s society, not many people actually realize how many children are abused. Seeing a bruise on a child’s side can be covered up with a simple lie. A child who is upset for most of the day, “he wasn’t raised right.” Society is so caught up in trying to raise children, and not actually taking care of them. Child abuse is more common now because it comes in more than a single form. Abuse can come in any form, from physical, mental, or even sexual. These children are the future generation, yet we can’t even open our eyes to notice just how wrong we treat them. Mental abuse is one of the most common forms of abuse, and not many parents actually understand what mental abuse is. Mental abuse has a wide spectrum, as all children handle some situations differently. However there is a strong foundation on what mental abuse is. Constant belittling, shaming or humiliating a child is abuse, or calling them names. These are just some of the multiple types of abuse that many children are experiencing today. How does society recognize if a child is being mentally abused? If a child has no attachment to the parent or guardian, or if the child is extremely introverted.
