SCOPE OF WORKS Scope Description The University of the West Indies requires the construction of a new wing for the Faculty of Social Sciences at its St. Augustine Campus, Trinidad and Tobago. This new wing for the Faculty of the Social Sciences has been approved to accommodate more classrooms and enhance the experience in the classrooms for students. They are required to construct 20 classrooms, ranging in capacity from 40 students to 100 students, a conference hall to accommodate 300 people, various offices and a faculty lounge. All rooms must contain full audio-visual tools. It was observed that the site topography is flat with drainage at the campus itself. Scope Justification The Faculty of the Social Sciences is one of the biggest faculties on the campus, which means that there are a lot of students in this faculty each year. They do not have sufficient classrooms for the students so therefore, the faculty has to have some of their classes in Engineering and other faculties around campus which is not right. The head of the Faculty placed a request for a new wing which has finally been approved. Assumptions It is assumed that a feasibility study was done. All approvals have been obtained from relevant university and government authorities. Consultations have been done with all stakeholders. Objectives The objectives of the new wing for the Faculty of Social Sciences for UWI, St. Augustine are as follows: • To increase the welfare of FSS students who study in the University of the West Indies. • To improve the safety of students by providing upgraded accommodations. • This project will address Occupational Safety and Health improvements to the students who will be studying there and utilising the facilities. • This project will ensure that the new wing can safely support teaching and learning operations on a daily basis. The commissioning provider, at a minimum, shall be responsible for the following basic services:  Provide the Contracting Agency with a report identifying the energy efficiency measures being implemented and the preliminary construction bid documents created for
