Effect of nonsurgical periodontal treatment in conjunction with either systemic administration of amoxicillin and metronidazole or additional photodynamic therapy on the concentration of matrix metalloprotrinases 8 and 9 in gingival crevicular fluid in patient 's with aggressive periodontitis. BMC Oral Health. doi: 10.1186/s12903-015-0048-0 Research is important to distinguish between accurate and misleading research. As a dental hygienist it will be important to stay up to date with current advances in research. The ability to stay up to date on research will allow the dental hygienist to explain to patients about new products that could benefit the patient due to advancing evidence. However, not all research is accurate or has been approved in the United States. Therefore, staying connected through the dental community is also important in order to learn advancements that could potentially help patients.
In the research article “Effect of nonsurgical periodontal treatment in conjunction with either systemic administration of amoxicillin and metronidazole or additional photodynamic therapy on the concentration of matrix metalloprotrinases 8 and 9 in gingival crevicular fluid in patient 's with aggressive periodontitis,” is used to
that both treatments yielded comparable results with no statistically significant difference in survival rates.(165)
Regarding the treatment protocol, appropriate clinical procedures to perform the decontamination of the implant’s site, such as antibiotic administration, meticulous cleaning, and alveolar debridement, combined with GBR with or without bone grafting, is suggested to create adequate conditions for bone regeneration and osseointegration despite the previous contamination.(6,85,166)

The antimicrobials used in this experiment include curcumin and clove. In this experiment, I investigated the antiseptic uses of curcumin, but it also has a variety of other uses in the areas of cooking and cosmetics (Nawaz et al., 2011). Song, Choi, Jin, Yoon, & Choi (2012) found that curcumin inhibited the adhesion of Streptococcus mutans to the surface of the human tooth, specifically the root.
relatively high and drugs can be incorporated into the systems without any chemical reaction; this is an important factor forpreserving the drug activity.
