Radiologist
What is a Radiologist? A Radiologist is a specialized medical doctor who has had specific postgraduate training in performing and interpreting diagnostic imaging test and treatments that involve the use of X- Rays, ultrasound, and magnetic resonance imaging equipment (InsideRadiology)
A Radiologist has a very hard job. This essay will talk about the basic job responsibilities, required steps necessary to secure employment, The average salary/ statistics, interesting facts, and information of what a person in this field knows/ does.
The basic job responsibilities. Radiologists are trained to assist other doctors and specialists to treat their patients by making a diagnosis and providing treatment using medical imaging. Radiologists have the medical knowledge to understand and explain medical problems or symptoms through the images or pictures that are taken of various parts of the inside of the body (InsideRadiology)
Radiologists have many career paths they can go down. The list being from Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, PET, and Nuclear Imaging:
Fluoroscopy is the a study of moving body structures--similar to an X-ray "movie." A continuous X-ray beam is passed through the body part being examined. The beam is transmitted to a TV-like monitor so that the body part and its motion can be seen in detail.
Ultrasound- is a medical ultrasonography used to visualize soft tissue structures in the body.
Radiologic technology is a satisfying and rewarding career. It is a technical and refined science. As a radiological technologist, there are many essential duties and responsibilities that have to be fulfilled in order to be a good one. First of all, radiological technologists have to maintain a well-mannered and professional behavior when gathering information. They have to assure their patients that they are in good hands therefore; they give patients the uppermost quality of care and services. Second of all, the main responsibility of a healthcare provider is to keep all knowledge of a patient’s health record confidential or secluded. That means radiological technologists cannot talk about patients at home or with friends and classmates
Radiology Technicians are like heroes. Without x-rays they do many people’s sicknesses would go un-treated , as well as undetected. The job of a radiology tech is sometimes very stressful, but even though that it is stressful they know it’s worth the stress because they are saving other people’s lives. When being a radiology technician it can be very dangerous because of the administering radiation, but the benefits of being able to know that you helped a person out ways all the negative factors of this career.
I currently attend Baton Rouge General School of Radiologic Technology to pursue an Associates degree through Northwestern State University. I chose this profession because I always want to help others. I want to play a part in the healing process of patients. Being able to help people determine things going on inside their body interest me and that is why I chose Radiology. The true definition of a Radiologic Technologist is the “medical personnel who perform diagnostic imaging examinations and administer radiation therapy treatments. They are educated in anatomy, patient positioning, examination techniques, equipment protocols, radiation safety, radiation protection and basic patient care”. This definition makes this job seem easy but it is not an easy job at all. We do so much pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients it is physically exhausting. When I first chose this profession I did not think there would be this much to taking images of someone. It is more than just placing a patient somewhere and
The educational requirements are you have to have a certification, associate’s degree or a bachelor's degree in radiology. The license is required in most states. You also have to have a post secondary training. The job responsibilities are that you have to be capable of working with others, following directions, mechanical abilities, and manual dexterity. The experience is any training and work experience obtained in the armed services; which is on-the-job training. The skills you need are to help, and teach others, also technical and scientific.
A radiologist technician, also known as a radiographers, performs diagnostic imaging examinations such as x-rays, MRI, and CT scans on patients. Radiologist perform medical imaging on injuries such as broken bones, dislocated joints, torn muscles and diseases (Occupational Outlook Handbook). Then they use the radiographic imaging to diagnose the patient with the injury they may have. As a radiologist technician, you start out performing x-ray on patients. To advance in this career you would advance to performing CT scans and MRIs
Radiology technician schools teach radiographers, also known as radiology technicians, to learn to extract the images of the insides of the patient’s body with the help of several forms of radiologic technology. The physicians are required to properly set their machinery and the patient in order to obtain a photographic image that they need to later conduct a review. They also need to take into consideration several other factors with each patient which includes maintaining their safety along with the precision of each examination. Individuals who aspire to become a radiologist must have certain educational requirements before they can get hired.
So many that it can be hard to choose one specific profession. But ultrasound stands out from the rest. When I say to someone that I am going into the healthcare field they assume I want to be a nurse or pre-med. So it’s always great to see how shocked they are when I say Ultrasound. It is just not the normal response and it motivates me to be a part of something that isn’t as well known and make it well known. Also I want to be able help someone find a diagnosis. I want to be the key to helping give people answers. It also lets me be independent and make my own judgements. I will get to use my creativity and see something new everyday. Most importantly I’ll get to interact with my patients and work one on one with them giving them personal care. There are so many different options and sub-specialites that go with ultrasound that I would be able to continue to learn and expand my knowledge. One of the greatest things about Ultrasound is I would be able to obtain employment anywhere in the world. I would love to travel and see knew places and culture and ultrasound is a profession that will allow me to do that. Ultrasound will challenge me daily and help me improve myself so I can improve the care I give to others. Science/technology is know as being the mystery of life and for me to be able to use it daily to help people is amazing. Ultrasound comes with many good qualities, but there are always bad qualities. Accepting that
Radiologists is a challenging career that allows me the opportunity to help and maintain good health of my surrounding and community. The Radiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques, such as x-rays, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, positron emission tomography, and ultrasound. To begin a career in radiology is very interesting and hard because of the number of tasks and pressure is required to be verified by a radiologist. From a young age, I’ve always hated the electronic game system, but I’ve always been interested in how the technology works and how it has brought so much impact on our life especially the hospital technology. Growing up in the village in Nepal technology was very rare, and hospital system was very unorganized.
Everyday scans help save millions of lives, but radiologists make sure those scans are read correctly to ensure correct treatments are properly received. Radiologists are medical physicians who specialize in diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques. Radiologists use techniques such as magnetic resonance imaging, computed tomography, and x-ray. Radiologists interept medical scans in order to make a diagnosis so that the patient can receive proper medical treatment.
It embodies those qualities that geared me to become a physician. Ought most importantly, Radiology is intellectually challenging. The radiologist must coalesce his complete clinical knowledge across the different organ systems of human body, combined with all available patient history and findings to transmute pictures into a reasonable meaningful diagnosis. Secondly, I believe the radiologist must possess highest communication skills and team work. The radiologist has become a fulcrum point to the modern team based medicine, working closely with the internists, surgeons and other specialists to precisely diagnose and treat patients. The radiologist is also about trust. As the modern technologies have provided the specialists with an unparalleled power to image the human body, at the same time it has become increasingly complex and difficult for most of the experienced clinicians to interpret the finding in a useful manner from what is otherwise just an unfathomable collection of pictures. Radiologists are trusted to use the potentially lethal radiation to precisely localize areas of anatomical anomaly and abnormalities, and provide differential diagnosis. Finally, in radiology the boundaries of modern medicine ate protracted with the applications of modern technologies in diagnostic modalities and progressively in therapeutic ones. It is truly exciting to witness and be a part of this modern medicine
A radiologist is awesome because they help someone, most of the time, more than one person a day! A radiologist is a cool job because it is health related. This job specializes in reading and recognizing situations that cannot be seen with the human naked eye, well without any special technology of course. Reading an X-ray is very difficult in many ways. To read an X-ray, there is special training that one has to go through. After reading an X-ray, the radiologist has to inform the patient what is wrong within their body and what they can do to help heal better, and correctly. Another job like this one is Physical Therapy. A physical therapist is a health related job that helps the patient after a surgery or a broken bone to help heal the patient, which makes it a cool career. A physical therapist gives a patient certain exercises to help heal the body and help them to be able to do things they used
Based on my strong assessment report I got radiologic technician as my top occupation and I’m interested to learn more about it. The types of knowledge that is needed is providing customer service, diagnose and treat human injuries, structure of English language, computer hardware, and physics. Some crucial skills needed for a Radiologic Technician is active listening, giving information effectively, reading comprehension, social perceptiveness, writing effectively, and having technology skills. The work environment is indoors and the activities are assisting people, working directly to the public, getting information, updating new knowledge relevant to this job, and communicating with supervisors by telephone. A Radiologic Technician relates

To begin, I watched a professional profile video using a CD that came with my textbook. The name of the profession is called: Nuclear Medicine Technologist. This profession is practiced at either a general hospital or in ambulatory care facilities. The profession named: Nuclear Medicine Technologist; also known as a Radiology worker, is used in an integral way in health care. For example, in the textbook called, Health Science Fundamentals, the authors stated: Radiology workers operate x-ray equipment in order to take pictures of the internal parts of the body. In addition, the x-rays provide valuable information for the diagnosis and treatment of varying patients (Badasch & Chesebro, 2009, p. 76). Moreover, in searching for a Nuclear Medicine/Radiology Technician, there are a number of different resources available.
Disciplined and confident Radiologist doctor with extensive experience in Hospital, ER and Radiology department. Wide experience as a translator from English to Spanish and freelance translator and writer for two local newspapers. Strong background giving presentations, speeches, lectures and medicine classes. As a chief radiologist I was in charge of interviewing staff as doctors, nurses, technicians and transcribers. One of my duties was acquiring new equipment, medical supplies, X-rays plates and CDs. I had to find the best business for my service.
