Nissan Motor Company produces a forecasting system, utilize it on the manufacturing line, and implement it on the best-selling merchandise. Besides, encompassing proposed to recognize risk- deduction tactics, due to supply chain risk, that may show how Nissan can alleviate rendering to disturbances brought about by natural catastrophes, which Nissan recovered from a tsunami and earthquake that hit Japan on March 11, 2011, and destroyed abundant of Nissan factories.
Operations management aids to growth profitability and productivity and develops procedures and productivity, which will create value customers. To list a few functions of operation management consist of planning, organizing, staffing, leading and controlling (Heizer,

Nissan functions using these two major components. Service and manufacturing organizations face many similar issues that affect the end result of the operation. For example, both face issues of cost control, and create mission statements and a vision for how the organization will be run and perceived by customers. They however their operations answer different questions and formulate different strategies when it comes to planning and managing the way in which an organization is run. The manufacturing operations at Nissan are in contrast to that of TPS, they leveraged a regional, decentralized supply chain structure, but still imposed a strong central control and coordination in times of global crises. Service wise they maintained a flexible organization by integrating and embracing diversity into their team. These two operations gives value to the customers and meets the organizations overall objective of customer
With the exceptional growth in technology, the present day projects are often large and complex involving a significant risk. In almost every business, project management is critically important. The critical path method (CPM) will provide a timeline for the project manager for when tasks should be completed. In addition, providing a deadline and the negative effects it will have on the following successors if not completed on time. These many task are interdepended. Therefore, the CPM provides the start and finishes times of the tasks, and identifies the few tasks on the critical path that the project manager should observe to determine which task needs the most attention. Already discovering and incorporating the details the task or assignments may require, CPM calculates all task times, which can be measured in hours, days, weeks, and months. For any unintended manually input errors, a warning message will be provided. Including an automatic successor generator, task numbering comment, and data validation, makes it easier on the project manager.
Some of these models are very rigid, and orderly, such as the quasi-military style model, where the organization functions much like a military unit, such as the swat teams do, where battle dress uniforms are worn and military style tactics are employed for all training, this style of policing is more widely accepted at the local and state level of policing.
Toyota faced a challenge related to the poor visibility and low quality of a supplier for the Suprima model. The Japanese brand, being related to a top quality product and a Just in Time manufacturing scheme could not afford to have stock out problems nor not meeting consumers’ demand for quality.

Operations management (OM) is that phase of an organization where inputs are put into operations to acquire required output (services) without compromising on quality. In other words operations management is also described as combining and transforming various resources in the operations sub-system into value added services in line with formulated policies of the organization. Project management is managing the work to develop and innovate or even change within an existing operation. There are five steps in this management: Initiating the project, Planning and controlling all activities to keep the project on schedule, executing every phase of the projects process, monitoring/ controlling reviewing and regulating the progress and performance of all phases of the project, Closing process this is where all processes are finalized and completed to officially close the project out.
While projects can be similar in some instances, no two projects are ever the same. For this reason, management of projects requires the application of tools and techniques to meet the goals of the temporary endeavor. Project managers apply these tools and techniques to determine what is required for project delivery such as the list of activities to completed, the time required to complete the activities, resources needed and the various risks associated with the deliverable and efforts. A multitude of tools and techniques are employed by the project manager based on the need of the effort to organize, identify and communicate the various aspects of the project. While in contrast, the repetitive nature of operations activities
