I have chosen The Woman's Hospital of Texas for my LTT1 task. It was founded in 1976 in Houston, TX. The Woman’s Hospital of Texas is affiliated by the Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), which offers health services for women and newborns. The Woman’s Hospital of Texas has been one of the state’s foremost care providers for women and newborns for more than 30 years with over 650 board-certified physicians. The hospital also received a High-Performing ranking in gynecology in the U.S. News & World Report's (2008) annual survey with an overall ranking of #40 in Texas, recognized in Gulf Coast and ranked #13 in Houston metro area. The Woman’s Hospital of Texas health specializes in women’s health services ranging from childbirth up to menopause which includes, Maternity Care, Labor & Delivery, High-risk pregnancy/Antepartum, Multiples, Maternal-Fetal Transport, Newborn Nursery, Postpartum, Neonatal Intensive Care, Breast Care, Gynecology, Imaging, Infertility, Physical Therapy, Surgery and Urogynecology. With a value statement of striving to exceed customers’ expectations, its reflection is shown when more than 9,000 babies are born at Woman's every year, more than any other hospital in the Houston area or Texas Medical Center. The Woman’s Hospital of Texas also supports the community through professional contribution and fundraising. These projects range from helping women that are victims of domestic violence at the Houston Area Women's Center, educating women on how to take better care of themselves and their babies with the Junior League organization, contributing a supportive affiliation with the March of Dimes through different aspects to save babies' lives. Woman’s Hospital of Texas also supports The Harris County Medical Society, the Society Kelsey Research Foundation and special needs babies with Camp for All. Woman's main fundraiser is The Woman's Hospital of Texas Labor Day Luncheon & Style Show, which benefits the March of Dimes.
