The Women's Liberation Movement also known as feminism, has impacted the past and present United States in numerous ways. The Movement and has continued since 1848 and is still going strong today. It has grown in each decade, gaining many followers and still helps women even now . The Women's Liberation Movement has helped women gain more respect, rights to her body, and equality in the workplace. Every human, male or female should support the movement. As a result of the movement, women have been gaining rights from feminism for over a thousand years. The Feminist Movement officially started in Seneca Falls at the first Women’s convention. Where they fought for the right to vote, even though it took over 70 years for women to get the opportunity. The people who participate in the movement fought for numerous rights for women, like voting, birth control, and equality in the workplace(Simon). Without millions the of people supporting, Women wouldn’t be treated or have the same rights they do today. That’s why it’s still so important to support feminism because if no one does all the hard work of the women in the past would go to waste. …show more content…

On the movements website it states, ''National Women’s Liberation is a feminist group for women who want to fight back against male supremacy and win more freedom for women. We believe that change comes about from the actions of everyday people—not politicians, the courts, lobbyists, or the media. The freedoms we have now were won by movements of women, organizing and fighting for change (“National Women’s Liberation”). The Women’s Liberation Movement is so important for empowering women, especially the younger generations. If young girls are given the same respect as boys they will grow up believing in themselves.
