The best vacation I ever had

I had been planning for the day I left for Hawaii for months and the day finally came. It actually came a lot quicker than I thought it would. I was so excited I could barely contain myself! When June 8th finally came around I jumped out of bed at 8 o’clock that morning and got ready as fast as I could. My flight didn’t leave till noon that day but I just couldn’t wait any longer! Even though we were going to Hawaii for my Mom’s work, its still a trip to Hawaii, and it was definitely one I will never forget. My grandma picked my Mom and I up from our house that day around 10:30 a.m. and dropped us off at the airport. Overlooking the balcony in the lobby was this tree that looked like it should belong in the movie “The Lion King”. It was gorgeous and had long branches hanging from it with twinkle lights wrapped around the vines. We took up all of our stuff to our room, and walked on the streets of Waikiki, in search for a good place to eat. It seemed like we had just been eating all day but we were on vacation so we ate everything in sight! There was this little Thai restaurant right around the corner from our hotel. It was perfect because my Mom and I both love Thai food. I can’t even begin to explain how much better food tastes in Hawaii. Everything has so much more flavor. There is something about Hawaii that is spectacular, and just remarkable from all the other states. Everything is so colorful and alive there. The people are friendly (of course I would be too if I lived in Hawaii).

After we had finished eating we went straight back to the hotel because we were exhausted from traveling all day. Plus because of the time change, it was now 1:00 in the morning in South Dakota. So you could say we were a little tired! I was so excited to see the ocean I could barely sleep. But I knew what tomorrow would hold.
