The decision to pursue masters in engineering management has not happened suddenly. Over the past 5 years, several aspects of my studies and work built the passion and interest in the field.
I enjoyed my engineering education in general and did fairly well. However, I particularly excelled in courses that dealt with management, communications and humanities. The following graph shows the overall picture.
After my undergraduate studies, I decided to gain expertise in management but I also did not want to lose my technology edge as I loved both disciplines. I got offers from Accenture (Fortune 500) and Wipro (Top 4 IT companies in India) in my campus itself (offer letters enclosed). My Extra Curricular Activities and Achievements
I have also been fairly active in several organizations and events that helped understand working with large number of people and diverse groups. I organized awareness campaigns against several issues faced by engineering students. This was very positively received and was covered prominently in the media (Details are available at http://lifeesagreta.wordpress.com/).
Our college had an extremely active IEEE Women in Engineering (WiE) chapter with 400 members. I started as a volunteer in my sophomore year, became a core committee member in junior year and was elected (from 6 contestants) as the chairperson in my final year.
During my tenure as the chairperson, I organized a book donation drive where we donated more than 3000 books for the underprivileged children. We started another chapter in a nearby college. We won the most vibrant student branch in my region during the zonal congress and I was given a special certificate of leadership by the headquarters of IEEE.
