Brief therapy helps people by focusing on solutions, instead of problems. The therapist asks questions thereby facilitates the client by helping formulates solutions. The client leads the meeting by actively formulating ideas in which he/she can serve to improve the client's negative circumstances. This is contrary to cognitive therapy, which focuses on a client's cognitive processes (how he or she thinks about people/places/things). The therapist collaborates with the client to help the client develop alternative solutions.

I am writing in reference to Bryan Canterbury and his practicum application. I have known Bryan for (___) years as his neighbor. I have found him to be a hard worker who is self-motivated, reliable and punctual. For example, Bryan works fulltime at nights and attends schools fulltime and still manages to maintain a 3.89 GPA, which requires dedication and motivation to achieve. In addition, I had set up a meeting with him and a doctor at the CDC, and he arrived more than 30 minutes before the scheduled time. This speaks volume about his abilities to be punctual. Bryan is an outstanding person with great leadership qualities.
I have completed the assignment in accordance with the Institute’s instructions and within the time limits set by my Centre.

Using therapeutic modalities is not a new thing in the world. There is evidence it has been being used since ancient Greek and Roman times. A therapeutic modality is using a device that helps treat a patient. Examples of commonly used modalities are heat, cold, massage, or ultrasound. Although therapeutic modalities are the commonly accepted term for this things, some people do believe that I would be more accurately described with the name physical agents. Physical agents mean doing a treatment that results in a change to the patient’s body. No matter what you call it, it is important to understand that you must have formal preparation to use it. Doing so will make sure you are using the forms as safely as possible and not causing harm.
