In conclusion, the history of Thanksgiving dates back to 1621. It takes many years before it becomes a permanent national holiday for the American society. The first thanksgiving was way different today than it was 100 years ago. How the first thanksgiving started with the harvest celebration of pilgrims and the native americans that took place in the autumn of 1621. The first thanksgiving was not a celebration back then it was more like a gathering. Usually on our thanksgiving dinner table we would have turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, cornbread, and a sweet treat of pumpkin pie. Back then they simply had turkey a little bit of bread because the dough was very rare and hard to make, And pumpkin pie if they were lucky because of the rare dough.
Being a dip plant, Cranberry Bush produces high concentrated fruit filled with nutrition. Since very little seed can take root, nature has ensured that each berry is packed with as many nutrients as possible.
The biggest food similarity is the turkey. Turkey is the most traditional thanksgiving main course. Turkey is also the most popular thanksgiving meats. Another popular thanksgiving food is mashed potatoes. Potatoes are my favorite part of thanksgiving because we always have mashed
In an article by Pleck (2011) it was claimed that the pilgrims did not have ruffled shirts, buckled shoes nor did they consume on turkey at the harvest feast that occurred in 1621. This may come as a shock to most because growing up we were taught to believe these along with other “facts” about the harvest feast that we come to know as the first thanksgiving. The pilgrims lost many of their people in the winter of 1620 due to lack of foraging knowledge. This led the colony to form a relationship with the Wampanoag tribe. They taught them how to fish as well as gather vegetables. This is thought to be common knowledge but as previously stated this may not be completely true after all. Pleck was not the only person to uncover the truth about the harvest feast of 1621. A director named Ellis (2010) made a documentary that confirms the feast

The berries appear twice in the poem. At the start “she held out her hands bright with berries, the first of the season”. Here they appear as bright and in season or ready to eat. They also appear at the end of the poem as “shrivelled fruit”. This means that the berries would be old and simply not enjoyable to eat. This shows that the family is not in a place long enough to be able to grow a healthy crop. These berries represent the family as they also appear to be happy at the start of the poem as they were settled in their home, loving life however after the father announces that they would be moving, turned into ‘shrivelled fruit’ as they are thought to be sad and unhappy due to their constant movements. This relates to shrivelled fruit as it is not
Thanksgiving is a national holiday celebrated by the United States, Canada, and a few Caribbean islands. It started off as a day that gave thanks or blessings for the harvest of the crops. Thanksgiving is the fourth Thursday of November, and the Second Monday of October in Canada. The first thanksgiving was celebrated by the pilgrims after the first harvest in the new world in October in 1621. Years later, Abraham Lincoln declared the fourth Thursday of November the national day of thanksgiving on 1863. Congress later made thanksgiving a national holiday in 1941.

In honor of the Victorian novels of Emily Bronte, I have created this romantic and enchanting tea sandwich. This sandwich also reminds me of visiting Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. Berries are a big staple in my home. This raspberry-rose sandwich is whimsical and surprisingly delicate in its blending of flavors. I often make this sandwich for romantic teas for two, Valentine’s Day or Alice and Wonderland themed teas. I often cut these sandwiches into heart shapes and garnish a platter with fresh pink and red rose petals and fresh raspberries.
