The Author, Shirley Jackson describes a fictional story, "The Lottery", about a little town and their traditions. The village looks like a normal and beautiful town, where the people are hard workers and friendly person. The town is a middle class town, where kids usually attend school, women are stay in home wives, and men's usually work on farms. Although the town looks like an ordinary village, is not the same on June 27th. The village looks like a typical village because of the people in it are hard workers and friendly persons. They are handworkers because the men's are framers workers so they provide the money to help their families. The women are stay in home wife's they but they still help the family on making the food or helping their children. In addition they look friendly because in the story it states “men began to gather, speaking of planting and rain" and the women "greeted one another and exchanged bits of gossip as they joined their husband". There's a black box that has many white pieces of paper and one whit a black dot in it. The people pick up one piece of paper and whoever gets the black dot they get a reward. The reward they get is not good instead is bad. The reward is to get stoned to death so the village could have larger crops. This tradition might be okay for them but for us it can be a dangerous day to be in. To get back to the point, the village looks like a normal town however on this date the village is an abnormal
