PROBLEM STATEMENT
Presented in this chapter are the issues in connection with the proposal’s function, form, economy, and time which will be the basis for the preparation of the architectural presentation of designs and studies.
Function
The Foster Institute of Creative Arts will serve as a public place of instruction, thaw introduce creative arts education by teaching academic, non-academic and extra-curricular programs which will present a veil product of successful future educators and artists in Davao City.
The institute will address the current situational issues in education in the arts, since Davao City are producing and tend to increase number of artists yet, it ended up with just a mere artists and not future educators. The city needs an institutional facility that will support and establish the creative artists in the city by providing facilities that will mould and develop future mentors and rosters of artists with degree to continue the legacy of teaching for creative artists in Davao. The Foster Institute of Creative Arts Davao will be profitable because of some requirements that will be catered in developing the community: by proving a creative arts community and state-of-the-art facilities for academic learning, as well as the courses offered to this institution that will bring profit to the client. The Creative Endeavors program is introduced to us at this point and explained in detail. Ms. P. with the goal of increasing the student’s creativity began the program in three phases. Phase 1 was the exploratory phase. In this phase the students were given time and typical art supplies to explore on their own. During this phase students came together on their own with similar ideas and began asking for additional supplies for the projects they envisioned. Once projects started to develop some guidance was given by the teacher to help move the projects along. At the end of Phase 1 students were required to write about their experience furthering their literacy skills. (p.237)

In order to complete this activity, that is, create an Arts Unit of Inquiry (UOI) plan, my skills and understanding had to meet the unit’s learning outcomes. My UOI plan demonstrates that I have a good understanding of authentic arts education and am able to apply such practices through the implementation of The Arts curriculum (Unit Outcome 1). My UOI plan also closely reflects Unit Outcome 2: “Within a lifelong learning framework, develop arts literacy and capability through personal investment in visual and media arts praxis, reflection and appreciation, to a foundational standard for teaching” in that it demonstrates my arts literacy as well as highlights the arts skills that I have attained throughout the unit by practical exploration.
