Thousands of people join social media networking sites to keep in connection with their friends and family members, According to Boyd and Ellison "people use social media sites such as Face book, Twitter, MySpace to create and sustain relationship with others"(1). Moreover, social networking sites are created to allow individual to communicate with others who share similar interests, information and friends. Most social network sites are web based and provide a variety of ways for users to interact, such as e-mail and instant messaging services. Social networking is the connection of friends or family together which allow people to communicate easily. With social networking sites people can have a long chain of friends they can chat or share information with. Mostly students devote more attention to social media than they do to their studies. Students’ addictiveness to social network, students’ frequency of exposure to social network, social media network that the students are more exposed to and the influence of social media as a medium of interaction between students has been part of discussion in recent times and which have imparted on their academic performance.
