Thessalia slowly opened her eyes and binked against the bright light of the midday sun. She yawned and streched her sleepy limbs, careful not to dislodge herself or her things, from her treetop perch. From here she could see almost all of the island. While the habour still remained empty, everywhere else was alive with frenzy. The venders in the western quarter looked like they were selling twice as many weapons as normal. Thessalia could see them being carted in wheelbarrows to the training grounds. Thessalia couldn’t see into the grounds of the Gynasium but she knew exactly what the warriors would be doing, and how busy they were. “Thessalia, come down, I see you!” a high-pitched voice called from below. Thessalia looked down, it was only Chloe. “What do you want?” …show more content…
“Tell her you couldn’t find me.” “But she told me where to look,” Chloe said. “Pleeaase come down, she’ll be angry with me if you don’t come to the Gymnasium.” “You must learn to be stronger Chloe, the old goat isn’t as frightening, as she may seem.” Thessalia knew that while Hippolyta could be cruel, she was above punishing a child for another’s insolence. “But you have to come.” “Why?” Thessalia said, as she reached into her bag and grabbed an apple. “Don’t you know Thessalia? The sentries spoted a ship! You have to get ready for battle!” Chloe said. “Last time I checked a ship by itself wasn’t a cause for battle,” Thessalia said with a mouth full of apple. “This ship had men on it! What if they come here?” “So what if they
True enough, he acted more sophisticated than her harbor friends and besides that, the adoration he lavished upon her, certainly held Lelia’s interest, as did his savoir-faire.
Lystra awoke to the sounds of death. Sitting up, she was surrounded by the other Deceived in the alcove as they stared at the Unable. In lines, some were shot; others were pushed through another door. Lystra didn’t watch, not at first, but held her hands to her ears, and counted the pairs of shoes she saw in front of her. The sound of shooting stopped soon enough, and the others in the alcove eventually lost interest. Some sat, some paced, others huddled in small groups, whispering among themselves.
Tizbeth thought she understood. “I know you must be lonely here, but I have a real life when I am done with this little journey.”
Timothy in a half second had picked her up and carried her inside. Elizabeth began to give orders. She told Jessica to get some ice and rags. Once Mary was down stairs she let the expert take over.
"That's why I wanted Piper," Percy muttered. "Her charmspeak could've stopped that." He shrugged. "But no matter. Annabeth and Nico on defense." He pointed to Thalia and Natasha. "Can I trust you two to guard the flag?"
At midnight he awoke. He said to Enkidu, “What happened? Did you touch me? Did a god pass by?
“What are we going to name him? It will have to be a name befitting the child of a sun god and a daughter of the moon. When is he due? I’ll have to start working on a crib, and write to my mother.”
I lifted my first forkful of, well, whatever this meat is, and carefully placed it in my mouth. My eyes eased shut in amazement as the perfectly cooked square of pure happiness collided with my tongue. Never in my life have I tasted something so magnificent; so – satisfying. My eyes snapped open and I shoveled more of the gourmet meal into my mouth. Potatoes, corn, beans, and my favorite: a warm biscuit topped with melted butter. This meal reminded me of the good ol' days. Back when we had it all.
By the time Eustace and company arrived the cabin, the once thought lessening condition was worsening into a whiteout. They could barely see five feet in front of them.
The boy griped the cold, metal handle with his sweaty shaking hand. He was full of nerve, took a big gulp, and opened the door only little. The only noise he could hear was the creaking of the door. The room was silent. He opened the door wide open, and felt a cold breeze run passed him. Out came not the tiger or lady, but the princess.
Instead of introducing the narrator to Hippolyta’s child she instead says, “Do you like my kid?” Almost addressing the child as an object. She later continues to say, “I’d be dead without that kid.” This brings to surface the reality of her
Gale must be near, I can hear his heart pounding. I am running desperately through the emptiness of what seems to be a corridor, it’s all white, just like most of the Capitol security buildings. I take a right, and then a left, but something makes me come to a complete stop; ten feet in front of me, an automatic and bright sliding door stands. I just hope that I am not being recorded by the security cameras, because if I am, my life has already been condemned to die within a few minutes. No one knows that I am here, except for Cinna. I am acting on behalf of his plan. So far, Cinna’s plan is being precise, but, I don’t recall this being part of Cinna’s arrangement, something doesn’t seem right. I face the door, trying to slide it open, but
One day when Hippolyta was 16 she got really worried because she had not received a letter from her brother in months. After a long time worry, Hippolyta’s life was shattered when her family saw an army man riding his horse to deliver the news that Sebastian had been killed during the war and that he died killing an important General of the Troy Army. Hippolyta’s mother fell to her knees crying, “Oh! My beloved son, come back to me!” As time went on, Hippolyta mourned over the lose of her brother and best friend, but eventually she decided that she wanted revenge. She came up with a plan and did not tell it to anyone, for that would ruin everything. Her plan was to dress as a man and be recruited into the army right away to fight and defeat

“Zach use your senses”, Who was speaking in his head? Was it Mr. Herbert, because he never knew where that old man would turn up. He scanned his surrounding and saw a man sitting inside a hotel room with a gun pointed at the senators head. This shot would not miss. He ran to push the presidential candidate but got pushed away by something and the gun blasted 4 times. 2 of them missed, 2 of them found its target. But the senator did not lay hurt, but in front of him layed Tom Harriman. “Nooo!” Zach cried, he couldn’t lose his father again. But Mr. Herbert came out of nowhere and took his father and started to run away. “No, not again. You won’t take him from me again.” Zach ran after him and found Mr. Herbert on the ground crying
