The third floor was quite noticeably the dirtiest area I situated myself in during the entirety spent observing. Crumbs were scattered across the tables, many people were having to wipe them off (including me). The walls were coated in writing, and at one point I thought I saw a dead cockroach. These observations lead me to believe, the higher the level, the less custodians care about the cleanliness. However, it remarkably had the least amount of people consuming food out of all the floors observed. Only one boy was seen eating, and could be heard quietly inquiring to his friend, “Do you want some?” I came to the realization, the higher the floor, the less dining, because it is not considered proper etiquette. Allegedly, the student body deems

The poem, "The Night House" by Billy Collins, is very symbolic and meaningful, and most people can relate to because everyone has something they are not content with in life. Collins is a great, straightforward writer that people can depict with in his poems because he is practical and uses simple things or everyday experiences in an easy way. This poem in particular is very symbolic and effortless to analyze because it is the everyday life--- going to work, coming home, and then going to sleep--- the cycle then repeats over and over. He talks about "the body works" at the beginning (which sets the tone for the rest of the poem), which symbolizes that our hearts and minds are not always into what we are doing. He talks and illustrates figurative parts of the body: the heart, mind, conscience, and soul. When he talks about the woman sleeping, all these figurative body parts are restless and come out at night to do what they really want to do.
The afternoon of March 20, 2016 at 1 pm I sat in the classroom 303 of Brewster B Wing awaiting Dr. Powers to begin her instruction on what would be happening in the Community Lab. We viewed a video that reiterated information that was addressed in the interviewer-training manual, Dr. Powers answered any questions that we had, and then we proceeded to the research lab.
The purpose of this study is to explore how self- worth varies amongst Black women of different socio-economic statuses and how that self-perception affects their individual income, education and occupational attainment. A combination of self-administered questionnaires and interviews were used to measure and analyze each participants’ story and their perception of their self-worth in connection to their socio-economic ambitions. The study showed that as it pertains to the intersectionality of race, class, and gender
I received a phone call from Sara to be at Hunt ave as soon as possible to receive more training. I was informed JP already ate and was in his room. Around 8 PM JP and I went to Walmart and k-mart to look for a Halloween costume. JP selected a whoopee cushion and a police officer costume. JP was well behaved, JP has been in his room watching television and listening to music. JP is really excited about his Halloween costumes, he asked staff if he could wear his Halloween costume tomorrow to work.
Why is our cafeteria so disgusting after 1st and 2nd lunch? Our janitors and other faculty staff have to pick up after us, high schoolers, who know to pick up after ourselves. I have second lunch, and first lunch in my opinion is the messiest (others might think differently). There is an hour in between each lunch and janitors have exactly an hour to clean the cafeteria premises.
Societal views of women on love change throughout history. E.M. Forster addresses this topic throughout the novel A Room With a View. A theme of love and changing society is discussed through the characterization of Lucy Honeychurch and George Emerson and the setting of Italy and Rome.
For this part of the unit the students were to learn about day and night and how it occurs. The previous day, the students were to observe the sun in different positions in the sky. The students were to see that the sun doesn't stay in one place all day every day due to the position of the sun and the Earth. The students were to observe a demonstration of how the earth rotates while the sun stands still to create day and night.
The first three mornings of the week, my roommate asked me to do a few different things. The first day the task was pretty simple. We are both Math majors, and he asked if he could have my notes for the day because he would be going to Walter Reed for a follow up on his surgery. The second day, he asked me to take his watch because he is not able to stand for prolonged periods of time, and the third day he did not request anything. The tasks that he asked of me were very easy, and I did not have a problem doing them for him. This is partly because he did the same for me last year when I had my knee surgery, but I know he would do anything I asked him to do regardless of what it was. From this, I learned the importance of having a good roommate. I think it is important to have someone that you can live with that you are able to be relaxed with after a stressful day (it also helps having a roommate of the same major so you can share notes). I did not find it hard putting my roommate’s need above my own.
I think everyone should take a Humanities class at some point in their lives. For those who don’t know what Humanities is, well it’s the study of how people process and document the human experiences. Knowing this important information of the human experience, it gives us the opportunity to feel a connection to people who were on earth before us. During this class three things that grabbed my attention was the rise of the Greece, Islam, and The Rise of Medieval Culture. Within my paper I will give you a brief explanation of each, and why it is important to learn about these things.
In A Room With A View, E.M. Forster uses two places, Italy and Surrey, to represent the two contrasting forces of a strict society and freedom. It is in these places and the differences in their cultures that Lucy develops herself and discovers the life that she truly wants. Italy is a place of freedom and social fluidity, a relaxing and beautiful area that would appeal to vacationers. To Lucy, Italy is a place in which she can be herself and enjoy her company, a place where she finds love and appreciates the beauty of the world around her. Unfortunately, her strict cousin often restricts the choices that Lucy makes, and represents the little bit of Surrey that followed Lucy to her freedom and presents a fog to her judgements of what

"You have so much stuff," I say incredulously as I looked around his bedroom. He had a full sized bed in the center of his room that had gray sheets and tons of white fluffy pillows. He had a thick dark gray comforter that was silky smooth to the touch and I didn't fail to sprawl myself on his bed and mess up his perfectly made bed that surprised me the most when he brought me in here to show me his room. I didn't even make my own bed ever. I couldn't resist messing it up. His bedroom walls were painted a navy blue which contrasted nicely with his sheets.
