The second inspiration of Thomas’s work was the landscapes that he saw when traveling throughout Europe and the United States, many of his most famous painting present a beautiful landscape but with a story, it was as if he took the landscape and made it a fantasy world. Between the years 1829-1831 Cole returned to the United Kingdom to study, spend time with his family and be closer to Italy and France, these years treated Cole very well as he built his reputation and stature in this duration. In the winter of 1835-1836 Cole proceeded on his work of Catskills working on the collection of paintings called “The Course of Empire,” but his views were more impactful with his concerns regarding the impact of industrialization and its impact on the beautiful landscapes that inspired his work. Painting Abstraction In the painting, Pastoral in the series The Course of an Empire, Thomas Cole emphasizes the theme of a pastoral landscape leading to the beginning of society. The painting highlights other abstractions. However, Cole’s striking and intriguing thoughts on human evolution through the chiarscrco technique in which an artist contrast both light and darkness to create depth as well as volume emphasize the beginning of society. A pastoral landscape is one that stresses nature and simple rustic pleasures such as agriculture and livestock.
The first American group of painters, The Hudson School of Romantic Landscapes, was lead by Thomas Cole, who was born in 1801 in England. He went to Philadelphia and Ohio as a traveling portrait painter in 1819. In addition, he traveled to Europe where he painted many Italian subjects, and later many of the scenes in his paintings came from his European studies. He died in 1848 at the age of 47. Cole’s artwork represents the Romantic style of painting, especially in his famous work The Oxbow (Fulwider 618). In the life and time around Thomas Cole, three things stand out. The major themes in Cole’s artwork, what was romantic about the Hudson River School’s art, and why landscape was a national religious symbol for Americans.
Although civilians of the Western developed countries are fixated on the profit of entertainment media, John Cole’s illustration creates an understanding of the lack of attention towards starvation, dehumanization, and poverty in under-developed peoples.
Art is a way for not only everyday people but also artists to show their feelings and their passions. People can be affected in many, and different ways, through art. Even though art can be interpreted in different ways it can still have valuable meanings to almost everyone in their own special ways. Throughout time art has followed the people closely. It has fed on, and even publicized the state in which society was in. This is not saying that art can’t differ from the theme of society, but more times than not it usually relates to society in at least some small way. Society and Art can differ over the era in time. Art helps people to build their ideas and reshape their imaginations. Art can contribute to pass on the way thing were over different time periods.

The history of art is one the most fascinating type of history there is. Reasons can range from having the unique ability to tell the story of every artist putting their own mark on art culture to simply being the story of how people were able to create an outlet where they could express the way they were feeling about society or changes within Earth itself, with beautiful and admirable artwork. But of all, the artwork created a chance to be openly interpreted by anyone and be observed differently and freely. It’s like a secret message that is created in each work of art that contains the story behind it or the reason why the artwork was created in the first place. However they was also jealousy and pride that bloomed with creating art. Inspiration to artists came from anything: nature, loved ones, experiences but most of all other artists.

His father was the founder of Aetna Insurance. His first instruction came from Benjamin Coe. By 1950s and 1960s, Frederic Church had become the most famous painter in America. People could queue and pay fifty cents in the 1850s and 1860s to view the single canvas at his New York dealer, William Stevens & Williams. In 1877, Church was suffering from rheumatism, which crippled his left hand, hence compelling him to paint with his left hand. Frederic Church began designing and redesigning various aspects of his home, Olana in 1877. I choose to write my essay on the painting of Evening on the Sea, that is one of the best arts of Frederic Church in 1877.
Art has been created by the original humankind. In ancient time, because people did not have any technology to record sense, thoughts and scene, they came up with using paintings to express and record so that they can spread culture or teach the next generation. Just like the way that primitives used to draw on the wall in the caves.
