Thomas Jefferson & the Revolutionary
The revolutionary/age of reason was a period where significant movements occurred in the areas of Europe and America; this period begun in the year 1775 through the year 1848. During this period most of the changes were developed from the actions of Thomas Jefferson and in draft of the declaration of independence. Those rights invested in that doctrine helped paved the way for America’s agriculture and left a profound effect on literature. The Declaration of Independence was written by Thomas Jefferson which set fourth why he became the representative of the Revolutionary Age. This section is important to the evolution of American literature because it shows the goals of our nation.
Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Shadwell, Virginia. Jefferson had a mother by the name of Jane Randolph Jefferson; and his father who was a landowner by the name of Peter Jefferson. During Jefferson’s earlier years most of educational learning occurred at home with a private tutor. At the age of nine, Jefferson’s father enrolled him in a local private school ran by a Rev. William Douglas. Jefferson also learned how to play the violin and often accompanied his sister. Jefferson lost his father at the age of fourteen. As time progressed his guardians found him a new tutor. At the age of 17, Jefferson decided to enroll in William and Mary College. While there, he met Professor William Small,
