Thomas Jefferson played a huge role in our history. He was an extremely intelligent and noble man. Being the author of the Declaration of Independence and Americas third president, he is best known as “the man of the people” (Listabuzz). If it was not for Thomas Jefferson, this country would not be independent from England. Jefferson continued his life in the estates his father left him after he passed away and was a highly educated man who loved and cherished books. According to Listabuzz, British troops attacked the Library of Congress in 1814 and burned all of the books.
