I had the opportunity to interview Mrs. Maria G. Rivera. She Is a hardworking mother who came to the united states at the age of 13 since then she hasn't left. She has no desire of going back to Mexico and considers America home. I had the chance to dig deep into her early life history, which I will talk about in the next paragraph. I learned how much she values her children and how much she cares for them, which Is the reason why she decided to make a move and come to the United States because she was thinking of her future kids and didn't want them to experience the harsh life she lived when being a young girl.
When Faye started to volunteer at the shelter she decided to make a facebook page so people can adopt the dogs. Another example is that Faye always grooms the puppies and photographs them before she puts them on the facebook page. Therefore, Faye also posts the new dogs available each week for adoption on her facebook page. Every Time Faye volunteers at the shelter, the shelter receives 20 new dogs each week but some dogs still need re-homing. A quote from a worker also from the shelter says “ This takes a lot of heat off the pound for us trying to get these dogs into homes.” A quote from Mr. Oliver says “he appreciates Faye in every good way and wouldn’t let her dream be unpredictable.”

For anyone, especially children it is easy to become attached to a place and to call it home. As they grow up and make memories that are associated with a particular place it can be hard for them to leave that place especially if it is involuntarily. How would you feel, if you had to had to leave your home, leave all your memories? Julia Alvarez found out her answer to this question after her family was forced to flee Dominican Republic and settle permanently in the United States. The involvement of Julia’s father in an underground movement to remove Dominican Republic's ruthless dictator Rafael trujillo made this move necessary once his participation was discovered ("Julia Alvarez Biography"). Julia was forced not only to leave her childhood
On October 21st of 1925, I entered into the musical climate of Havana, Cuba. Me han dado el nombre de Celia de la Caridad Cruz Alfonso. Within my first moments in the world, I was welcomed by mother, Catalina Alfonso Cruz, and my father, Simon Cruz. I was raised in a house of 14 children, including my three siblings and other relatives, within a poor neighborhood by the name of Santos Suarez. As a child, I had a true love for music as I would often listen to the radio, go to ballrooms, and sing the younger children to sleep. I was known for singing in community events and competing in singing contests. Recognition of my voice came when I sung “Nostalgia”, a tango song, in La Hora de Té. My father believed

Dogs are friends who brings a calming influence, allowing people to open up their hearts and receive help for what is affecting them. These are trained Comfort Dogs for Lutheran Church Charities. Kurt Onken, pastor of Messiah Lutheran Church in Marysville, Washington., wasn’t really sure about the value of the so-called “comfort dogs” prior to a shooting at the local high school just down the road from his church. The pastor has seen the usefulness of the specially trained golden retrievers with his own eyes. For example, for five days after the shooting at Marysville - Pilchuck High School when the dogs visited with their handlers, they visited numerous sites in Marysville in an effort to help students feel safe and happy again. These specially
Since being involved in a dog rescue organization, I’ve learned a lot about how an animal control shelter works. They are not just people who will take your dog if they get out of the yard. They are animal lovers who try their best to educate the community pet population control and help homeless pets find a new home. I sat down with a friend of mine who I met through the animal rescue group with both volunteer with to find out more about a day in the life of a shelter worker.
In addition, various political organizations have labeled her as an immense supporter for progressive reforms, which are heavily focused on creating shelters that resemble the true environment of a canine. Various veterinary associations across the world have recognized her facility as being one of the most remarkable sites they have
Shelters and pit bull rescues should come together and add a more positive outlook for these noble companions. Some of the positivity they should put out includes the following: They help kids become stronger readers because many kids with reading disabilities won’t read to an adult but they will read to a dog, they are seizure watch dogs, diabetic alert dogs, comfort nursing home residents and offer a plethora of services to human counterparts (Sara K Enos 2).
Seeing an animal that has suffered abuse is very heart-wrenching for most people. Fortunately, many animals that are being abused end up having a happy life. Kelsey is an example of one of those animals. She was a homeless dog that roamed the streets looking for food. She would sleep in alleyways and underneath bridges. She was constantly in harm's way. However, that all changed one day after someone found her.
Everyone must have had a pet before, even if it was as small as a fish or as big as an elephant. We’ve all had that one pet, that we will forever remember. The loving relationship between a dog and a person is so unexplainable but very special in its own way. I’ve had a dog when I was born and it would always be there from my first time to talk to being with me my sophomore year. I had a Chinese Shar-Pei, whose name was Kane. He was the most precious pet to me and not one other pet can replace his 1,000 rolls or the two different colored eyes. Everyone thought he was ugly but he’s beautiful to me. The relationship we had was unique. In this relationship it contained us both knowing what we thought and getting in trouble together. The loving
Teresa of Avila was born March 28, 1515 in Avila, Spain. Her father was a merchant, and she was born from her father’s second wife. She was one of ten children born between his father and his two wives. Shortly after her mother’s death, her father sent her to be “entrusted to Augustinian nuns” ("Catholic Encyclopedia”). In 1535 she joined the Carmelite Order and within a year she fell severely ill, leaving her legs paralyzed for three years. Nearing the end of this time, Teresa saw of vision of “the sorely wounded Christ” that changed her life forever (“Catholic Encyclopedia”). Teresa began to experience many manifestations and during this time, most of which were not external, and others felt were from and evil spirit ("Christian Classics Ethereal Library"). Many of the visions that Teresa had reflected the true passion of Christ. During her life, Teresa founded many new converts, all of which reflecting the reform she decided to embark on. During her life, Teresa also
