It was a freezing night, with snow glazing over the three-hundred and sixty foot field. The previously undefeated Patriots stood like goliath, immune to death glares and “boos” echoing around the Denver stadium. The swirl of the snow made it difficult to see exactly where the ball was, but near the end of the night, it was clear that the Broncos would soon defeat their giant, all the while being lead by an intrepid, young quarterback. This astonishing win wasn’t just a victory for the Broncos, but for Brock Osweiler as well.
In the NFL, there is a general consensus that the Quarterback is the most important position on the field. For the most part, wins and losses are both attributed to the quarterback. Thus, it is imperative for teams to find a “Franchise Quarterback” to build their team around. With such importance being placed on one position, it can be easy to put more pressure one quarterbacks than they actually deserve.
Tim Tebow went to the university of Florida and won a National Championship there and the Heisman Award and he did not get paid. Adele Birkenes, and Bagaria Akash, from, "Pay to play: should college athletes be paid?", writes “Before wowing fans in the National Football League, Tim Tebow set records and won championships with the University of Florida Gators. He also brought millions of dollars to the school. That money went to the coaches, staff, and the athletic department, but Tebow--like all college athletes--was not
Even “NFL-ready players” who are only one year out of high school have little choice but to play college football in order to maintain and showcase their skills until they’re “old enough” to play professionally. This process limits the players to have to play at the collegiate level where they won't receive any compensation other than a scholarship despite the potential they have (Mclaughlin). It is common in other sports such as soccer and basketball to see athletes straight out of high school playing at the professional level and receiving pay for their work (Neuhauser). These football players who are considered NFL ready should receive a salary to compensate for the money they could have been making in the NFL. The NCAA keeps member universities from offering players a salary in excess of room, board and tuition. The NCAA is effectively a cartel — an organization of independent entities that acts as a cohesive unit — to which all who want to play football professionally must donate three years of service
Most of where he falls in the draft will be directly connected to how his knee looks when going through the pre-draft medical process. If things look great, then he should be fine. Probably
What comes to mind when you think of a college football player? They were the best one their team in high school. They are headed toward the National Football League. They must have worked really hard in high school to be where they are. High school football is easy, because if you are good then you have so much more fun playing the game. In high school, there is homecoming, powderpuff, and senior night that gives everyone something to remember. College football there’s about one hundred players that are just as good or better than you so that brings in the competition. Although college football is harder than high school football, there is more competition, intensity, and rigorous plays; high school football is more enjoyable.
Before high school athletes totally rule out trying to play sports in college they need to consider the similarity and differences between high school and college sports. As young children, most high school athletes started out dreaming about being a sports star and making it into the professional. If these dreams are given up because college sports seem out of reach or too difficult, they will never know where they could have ended up. College sports can seem like a big step from high school sports but in the end they have many similarities.
Most athletes come from poverty or a struggling home and the only thing that helps them is playing a sport they love. A report showed that “86% of players living off campus living below the federal poverty line,” (National College Players Association). This is with a “full scholarship” these athletes still live a life where they struggle and don 't have enough money to survive in the real world. The case can be made that if they make it all the way where they become professionals, they can earn a lot of money. However, the percent to play in the National Football League (NFL) is slim, in fact, there is a 1.6% chance for a college football player to go to the NFL (NCAA). With 72,788 players in the NCAA, there are 16,175 eligible players to go to the draft, but only 256 draft spots. With all those numbers there isn 't a great chance to get drafted and make millions of dollars where you can set up your family forever. So, those other 15,919 players who don 't get drafted have no financial security, unless they graduate from college with a degree. However, people

Mike Webster was a center for the Pittsburgh Steelers, and played for 17 years. He set the record for 220 games played with the Steelers. The first point being,is that out of every one hundred kids, and or adults only three of them only three make it to the NFL.First,There are many that fit into this category of being one of the best football players but not the best student athlete getting in trouble for smoking weed or something like that the NFL will take someone with less talent and better as an athlete.Another scenario is when you are going for one position, and your coaches told you that you need to know how to play more than one position, and all the teams have fulfilled that position already with someone better with experience,or a better rookie.A final scenario is when you in college and high school you ran similar offenses and then when you get ready to gopro and you can’t learn the plays right,or the formations to line up,and the quarterback is the leader on the field. This is just one factor to the life of a NFL player to a guy who just played college this makes any difference.
