The factors that were beyond my control was the way the material was addressed in the class. I was not really understanding some of the concepts that were being taught by the professors. I did not ask questions when I had a hard time getting the material. B) Some things that have changed for me to be successful is that I have picked better professors. So it would be easier for me to understand. I have also started putting in more time toward my classes that I have been having trouble with. Taking time outside class has helped me understand concepts better. C) I will check with the finical aid and academic advising to make sure that I have picked the correct course for the upcoming semester. To make sure that I do not reach that
Everyone has always hated getting up super early to go to school. As children get older they move to different schools, from elementary to middle to high school, and the start times get earlier. In elementary school it was never a problem getting up but getting older, it always got harder to get up and the days were always longer. Schools start so early in the morning that it is hard to focus and students tend to miss more of their earlier classes and attend all of their later classes. Schools everywhere should start later because it would benefit the students and teachers.
3. You have been asked to advise a growing organisation which employs 75 people in office-based roles but which has no specialist, dedicated HR function. Managers are particularly keen to know how they can best evaluate the effectiveness of their HR activities and initiatives. Despite limited funds being available the organisation manages to provide some form of formal training and development opportunities for everyone each year, gives everyone an annual performance appraisal and seeks to involve staff through a consultative forum which all attend at least once a year. What advice would you give? Justify your answer.
It is the state championship game and your team has rose up from the bottom of the ranks. Even though you are the underdog, your team has pushed through any obstacles that were thrown in your way. You are much smaller than the number one team in the state, but you still find a way to keep the game tied. You are the senior quarterback and it would mean everything if you won. The fans are all in the stands screaming and you smile as you take in your last experience under the Friday night lights. There are two minutes left in the second half and the ball gets snapped on the third down at the 20 yard line. You catch the ball and look around frantically. All of your receivers are covered and you decide you have to run, but before you can move, a 300 pound linebacker slams you to the ground. A flag is thrown, but it is too late, everything goes black, after a few seconds, you regain sight, but you are still in a daze. You slowly stand up, but fall over immediately. You have a few seconds to rest while the ref is checking on you, your head is pounding as you feel the concussion, but you want to keep playing. Your coach leaves it up to you, and you step back out onto the field. You are now at the 15 yard line and the ball is snapped. You make eye contact with your wide receiver and pass the ball, it sails through the air. As you watch it leave your hand, you see the same linebacker out of the corner of your eye. Everything goes black again, but this time you don’t wake up. This
Time management is an important quality that everyone needs to have. Time management is the ability to plan and control how you spend the hours in your day to accomplish your goals (Psychology Today). Personally, I have a really hard time with time management. Time wasters are my biggest enemy. Time wasters are what keep you from using you time effectively. Take cell phones for example: I could be working on homework, my phone goes off and I lose all thought. Cell phones cause interruptions, whether it be texts, calls, Facebook, or SnapChat something draws your attention away from what you need to be focused on. Turning off an unnecessary technology is a great way to eliminate time wasters. Without the laptop and cellphone on you can focus on what you really need to be doing. Your friend cannot text you wanting to do things, social media notifications are not distracting you, and you cannot be browsing the internet when you are actually supposed to be working. Another time waster would be procrastination. Everyone has procrastinated at some point, whether it was an assignment we did not want to do or a task at work we want to do, we all have done it. The act is it only hurts us in the end. We either rushed to complete the task or assignment and it was not that great, or we did not even do it at all. Way’s to stop procrastinating include: breaking it down so it’s not so overwhelming, knowing the consequences of not doing the assignment, and eliminating
Whether or not to start schools at a later time has been very controversial around the world.
Studies found that an hour difference in school start times led to a 2.32 grade difference. School start times should be later because of student health, academic ability, and students’ moods.
Often times the first thing that is need to accept to change is that something could be better. This is the case with my scholastic experience so far, when I was in high school I didn't study much. Going into my college experience I wanted to make sure that I could succeed, that's when I found the Framework for Success class. During the meet the mentor night I was introduced to my mentor Avery and he was very experienced and helpful. I learned many things during the meeting and las opened to new ideas as well.
The reason kids wouldn't have extra time in the day, is because since school will start later, it would end later as well. After school is when kids can get away from teachers and rules and enjoy having fun with friends or do extra curricular activities, but when it gets late in the day, it gets dark out and stores close. The area can also get filled with creeps who only go outside when it gets dark so they can do drugs or try to steal stuff. School starting later would decrease the time kids have to do other things besides school. If our whole day would be spent in school, we would all turn into nerds!
How have I changed/ Grown as a learner over my four years in high school?
First off, the college life has changed me for the better. I am much more responsible in many different ways. I had to change my study habits, or should I say I have to get study habits. I high school I never studied, because everything came so easy to me and I could just
I have become more proficient in my in note taking because I make sure I know what i'm writing about and not just copying what the teachers has put on the board. I also review my notes that I have taken to further understand the lesson or thing I have just learned. I never really did that in the beginning of the year because I felt I didn't have to but know that the material has gotten harder for me I do more often. I have also become better at my studying skills because I try to review all the content from the notes that I think would be helpful on a quiz. I also take my time when studying and don't rush to finish studying so that I can take more time to understand the important stuff in the notes.
The most significant change that happened in my life was when I first came to middle school. I thought it was gonna be hard and I was gonna give up right away and get sent back to elementary. So as the years went on I was starting to give up quickly. I didn't want to try, I wanted it easy. I wanted to go back to the easy life, but then I understood that was not going to happen. So I started to try because my grades were slipping and I knew I was smarter that that. This affected me by showing that not everyone is perfect and if you don't try you will never accomplish anything. At that point in time, I was really worried about what the cool kids are doing and who's dating who's and who's doing what. And then my grades started going down again
Time Time is defined as a measured or measurable period, a continuum that lacks spatial dimensions. This broad definition lacks the simple explanation that humans are searching for. There are many scientists, philosophers, and thinkers who have tried to put time into understanding terms. The aspects of time that we can understand are only based on what we can perceive, observe, and calculate. Every day we look at our watches or clocks.
My improvement was a product of extreme dedication and hard work. I set myself up a study schedule consisting of reading my textbook and practicing my material for two hours a day, Monday through Friday. I was scheduling office hours as if my professor happened to be handing out hundred dollar bills at the meetings. In addition to those points, I made a friend in the class to quiz me on terms and learning objectives for each chapter.
I need to work on being persistent, that's something that will help out in every aspect of my life as well as my journey through higher education. I plan to practice relaxations more, be more assertive, be out spoken, ask and keep discussion any problem I may have until I'm clear on the subject matter. At times I feel a sense of aloneness that I need to overcome, I feel as though I need to become more interactive with my fellow online peers. Spend more time researching the classroom material as that I may be more verbal in helping my peers as well as myself.
