Tinted Window In The Traffic Law

New York City has forbidden cars with tinted window in the Traffic law “Section 375 (12-a)” (www. dmv.ny.gov). Indeed, traffic police fine drivers with all sides of their vehicle tinted. This law also appeals for the rear window only if the car possesses outside rear-view mirrors on both sides. The mirror should give the driver a full and clear view behind the vehicle.
When the car is a sedan, hardtop, coupe, or station wagon, the rear side windows must also allow good visibility. It is illegal to drive a car with glass that does not meet the terms with this law. Nevertheless, police officers in the city have all their car windows tinted and operate around the city. Are police officers exempt from laws while they sworn to uphold them?
