Be thankful My family did not have that much money when I was growing up. My family still doesn’t have a lot of money currently, but we are in a better position than before still. When I was little there were always things that other people had that I didn’t have. I wasn’t really jealous like lots of other kids would be, but like everyone of course I would want to have some nice things of my own too. I grew up with a really slow and old computer, which I just recently replaced this summer after I built my own computer. The event that helped me learn to always be thankful is actually two years long: middle school. I did not have a phone when most of the other kids did in middle school. All the kids would be using their phones chatting or playing
In conclusion everyday we feel gratitude for something sometimes not even knowing it and it is a big thing in our lives that affects us a lot. People getting something for you, your parents buy you something that you want or just something happens that is just makes you happy and it makes you feel
Being thankful for what you already posses is essential for living a happy life, as it is healthy to focus on the things you already have and to not focus on the things others have. In the story “Marigolds” by Eugenia W. Collier and the story “The Monkey’s Paw” by W.W. Jacobs, both authors gives examples as to why it is important to be thankful for what you already have, and to not dwell on what others might have that you don't.
Far too often in our selfish-minded culture, we forget to be thankful for the many blessings we have. There is a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on the table, and I've never gone hungry. I'm thankful that I am homeschooled; I do not have to deal with bullies at school and I am able to have a more flexible schedule so that I have an increased amount of free time to spend with family. I am also thankful for my little sister and my parents who care for me and work hard to provide me with everything I need and want. In addition, I feel grateful for my artistic and musical talent. However, most of all, I am deeply grateful for my entire family, the warmth, love, and companionship they bring, and my relationship with
The world can that we live in can be harsh and sad, in the story fly away home by Eve Bunting, my claim is be thankful for what you have. Andrew is the main character and he never gives up hope even though he and his dad don’t have a home, but Andrew is still thankful for people, work, and the airport. Anything that has come from me was a gift for my family. Although my family has not taken much from me, I have lost some opportunities because of it. For example, I have lost the opportunity to get specialized training for soccer because my younger sister needed someone to watch her after school. Family dinners were also a large setback. I could rarely go out and socialize with friends because I knew that I had to be home by 6:30 daily. Furthermore, after dinner, my social interactions were also crippled by a strict curfew of 10 pm. Besides these few circumstances, my family has not taken much from
I am thankful for money. I am thankful because my family can afford lots of things we need and things we want. I am thankful because we can afford a home, so we’re not sleeping outside and we can be warm and not cold. It’s also
It is that time of the year when we express our thankfulness in our lives closely. It is time to be thankful of the things that with the fast way of living are taken for granted. To be thankful means to express gratitude and relief about everything around you. The things I am thankful for aren’t things that can be bought but things that are earned.
So don’t wait around for a big wakeup call to tell you that you should have been grateful. Be grateful now. And be grateful for the people in your life, the love that you feel, the little things that make you feel good to the core. Be grateful for the people that you have lost and the people that are still living with you. Every moment, every person, every experience and every memory is
Everything you get should make you feel thankful. Someone else bought something for you with their on money; you should be thankful I am happy that I have nice parents and take care of me. Everything I get I am thankful and happy to take care of it.
Every since then I learned you should always be appreciative for all the things you have in life. Because if you were in their shoes you would realize how much we take the biggest things for granted and how much it could become a big deal
The privileges that people should be thankful for are being taken for granted every day. When everything is expected and nobody shows thankfulness for anything the components that should bring happiness lose value.
This insightful quote by the famous author, Sonia Parker, made me realize how many things I have to be thankful for and reminds me to count my blessings daily. I need to take time everyday to truly appreciate what I have in my life, even the things I take for granted like having a roof over my head in a neighborhood that I love, a cozy bedroom to call my own, a comfortable bed to sleep on every night, a closet full of clean clothes, delicious food and running water, cars to take me to school and sports, and money to provide me with everything I need in life. While these are only some of the things to be thankful for everyday, I am most thankful for my wonderful grandparents, my amazing family and friends, and the many opportunities that my school, sports, and other extracurricular activities provide for me.
Ever since we where young, most of our parents would remind us to appreciate what we have and that we should realize how luck we are. I remember all the lectures I would receive from my parents and my teachers whenever I acted spoiled or selfish. The never failed to mention that I was very lucky and that I should never take people, technology and my living situation for granted. Until my trip to San Juan, Argentina, I never fully understood what my parents had meant. That trip really put into perspective how lucky I was and it taught me how to appreciate the things I had.
I believe in being thankful for everything; both the good and bad happen for they happen for a reason. Have you ever been faced with a problem or situation that you wish you hadn’t come in contact with? Or have you ever been “stuck” on an issue that you wish you could just “skip” over it to the future? Even though you may think that it would be easiest to not deal with the past two questions, there is a reason for you to face these problems head to head.
