Hitler was one of the most famous totaltarian and dictartor in history. He ruled an entire country because he wanted a specific goal for Germany. Totaltarianism is a very strong government for many reasons and the fact that many people join in on the government when it occurs. Totaltarianism is a strong form of government because changes to government can be acted quickly and swiftly, the process of making laws is very easy, and because a small group is in power, there is also less room for corruption in the government.
The history of this government can be traced back to Ancient China under the political leadership of Prime Minister Li Si who helped the Qin dynasty unify China. Something very similar to Totalitarianism was also in force

Other types of governments usually take a while for things to change. For example, Hitler changed everybody’s opinion on Jews and what Germany needed so quickly that he became ruler because everyone thought he could get them what they wanted, and he said what they were wanting to hear.
Another reason for this government being a strong form is that making laws is very easy and takes little time to enforce. This is good because when the government needs to change a law to go with the goal they want to achieve, they will have to make the change in law fast and so therefore they can enforce that law in little to no time. Under Hitler's regime, if a citizen spoke against the government then they would be arrested and often sent to a concentration camp. People would get sent away because he made a law where if you spoke against him or didn’t like what he was doing, they would be sent to a concentration
After Germany’s humiliating defeat in World War I, Germans had little faith in their government, and in the early 1930s following the stock market crash in New York, Germany was economically struggling . Millions of people were out of work due to the world wide catastrophe making it an opportune time for Hitler and the Nazis to rise into power. Hitler, who was a powerful and spellbinding speaker, attracted Germans desperate for change. He promised to make Germany a better country and promised the disenchanted, a better life. Nazis appealed especially to the youth, unemployed, and members of the lower to middle class. Hitler’s rise to power seemed instantaneous. Before the economic depression, Nazis were virtually unknown, winning less than 3 percent of the vote to the Reichstag, which was the German Parliament. However, in the 1924 elections, the Nazis won a whopping 33 percent of the votes which was more than any other party. In January of 1933, Hitler was appointed Chancellor, the head of German Government . The Germans were convinced that they had found a savior for the Nation. The timing of his rise made it very easy for Hitler to gain power in a democratic government because people were hopeless and wanted a fast solution to the deficit. He promised things like a stronger economy, prosperity, and anything that they desired . He focused on first getting noticed and then grew from there. He didn’t say anything but what the people wanted to hear. Getting the people of Germany to trust him was how he started to gain so much control. Unfortunately, Hitler’s charm and persuasion was not the sole reason why Hitler gained so much power in a democratic
Totalitarianism is a concept of government that emerged from the ruins of war. Although it has existed since the dawn of the human era, the twentieth century is where this form of government flourished.
What made it possible for authoritarian governments to take over Europe were the catastrophic consequences of World War I. The economy was in shambles, and due to the need for the emergency powers, democracy had been suppressed. In addition, nationalism had not been broken and authoritarian rulers would use this to their advantage. Lastly, the people desired a dramatic change in their lives. So far democracy had led them to a world war that had killed millions of soldiers. The people hoped that fascism or communism would help them avoid another war like the one that had just taken place. Hitler and Stalin all desired racial purity, a century of collectivism, and a socialist economy. After World War I the people had a new mentality that allowed
There are many factors as to why governments are set up the way that they are. The first factor to why a government is set up the way that it is, is due to the society's, culture, and how they
Totalitarianism is a form of rule in which the government has complete or “total” control over society. In a totalitarian dictatorship, people do not have individual freedom, and the government controls every aspect of an individual’s life. In order to achieve this type of dominance over society the dictator instills fear into everyone which makes totalitarianism a cruel form of government.
In 1934 Hitler moved in to take supreme power of Germany and was able to establish a dictatorship. I agree that the main reason why Hitler was able to do this was because of the Reichstag Fire in 1933. There were many other reasons other than this such as the Enabling Act, the banning of political parties and trade unions and finally the Night of the Long Knives.
The debate as to whether Hitler was a ‘weak dictator’ or ‘Master of the Third Reich’ is one that has been contested by historians of Nazi Germany for many years and lies at the centre of the Intentionalist – Structuralist debate. On the one hand, historians such as Bullock, Bracher, Jackel and Hildebrand regard Hitler’s personality, ideology and will as the central locomotive in the Third Reich. Others, such as Broszat, Mason and Mommsen argue that the regime evolved out from pressures and circumstances rather than from Hitler’s intentions. They emphasise the institutional anarchy of the regime as being the result of Hitler’s ‘weak’ leadership. The most convincing standpoint is the
Totalitarianism is a system of government in which the state acts to extends its absolute authority and power into all aspects of its citizen’s lives and have that population be completely under the control of a totally pervasive ruling ideology of a single leader. The essence of totalitarianism can be found in its very name; it is a form of rule in which the government attempts to maintain 'total' control over society, and further seeks to meld that state’s beliefs within that societies core roots, an example of this occurrence can be liquidised through Stalin and his methods in Russia during the 1920’s and 30’s. Carl Friedrich’s, a late political scientist and historian of the 20th century formed the basis of a totalitarian
The Totalitarian Aspects of Nazi Germany The government of Nazi Germany was a fascist, totalitarian state. They ruled in Germany ever since Hitler became chancellor in 1933, to 1945. Totalitarianism was a form of government in which the state involves itself in all facts of society, including the daily life of its citizens. It penetrates and controls all aspects of public and private life, through the state's use of propaganda, terror and technology.
In short, totalitarian means a political system that has complete control over all aspects of people's lives. The very same tome that I previously quoted from contains this definition of dictator: "Dictator
Totalitarianism is a political system in which the government has the authority to regulate every aspect of public and private behavior. Since totalitarianism is based off of a specific ideology, every totalitarian government or group can be different from each other. There is no single established definition for the term, however all definitions of totalitarianism contain commonalities. New World Encyclopedia states that these commonalities include getting a mass population to follow a specific ideology, instituting control, and setting up repercussions for those who go against the totalitarian state. By defining totalitarianism, it displays the difference from a democracy and the similarities to the government of North Korea. (Totalitarianism).
A totalitarian government is one in which all power rests in the central government. Throughout history our nation has worked to avoid a government in which all power rests in one centralized place, that’s part of why we created the Constitution, to give some power for the states to delegate. The Bill of rights
Throughout history the way of government has been perceived very differently, from John Locke to Adolf Hitler everyone has their own opinion of how government should work. John Locke said that government needs to provide services and offer protections which has been known as the social contract. (Why Government 1). Another philosopher, Thomas Hobbes also stated that he thought that one of the government's main purposes was to provide protection for the citizens' rights. (Why Government 2). Adolf Hitler's idea of government on the other hand was way more diverse than any other philosopher. His idea was to eliminate all Jews and communists from his country (Germany), then build up a military to try and restore Germany which required him to basically turn Germany into a dictatorship. (Nazi Germany).
Firstly, constitution declares and ensures fundamental rights and obligation of citizens and other people. To be specific, the constitution gives precious rights to citizens and other people in political, economic and social. These rights belong to citizens and foreigners, so the government cannot take out these rights from them. Therefore, the government cannot become a dictatorial because the people are free to enjoy these rights. Besides, citizens and other people while enjoying their rights, are also forced to take responsibilities, should remain loyal to the states where they live and respect the rights of other people of country. If they break the rules of constitution, they will be punished heavily.
Singapore 's former Prime Minster, Lee Kuan Yew once said: "Human beings, regrettable though it may be, are inherently vicious and have to be restrained" (Kwang, Fernandez, & Tan 1). One can infer from Kuan Yew’s statement that he 's subtly saying that individuals shouldn 't be in control of their choices, yet there ought to be somebody to settle on choices for them. An ideology such as this can stem from an authoritarian government. In this day and age, most nations have a tendency to have a democracy. However, it wasn 't generally that way. Throughout history, there were nations under authoritarian rule. In order to fully understand what an authoritarian regime is, one must know the meaning of it. An authoritarian government is "an oppressive regime that rules through strict, intrusive, and violent enforcement of laws. It can “take the form of a dictatorship, but may also manifest itself in totalitarian bureaucracies or oligarchies" (Ritter 576). An authoritarian regime exists when a leader or a small group of leaders owns all property and are the sole decision makers for the entire population. There are only two questions left to be asked. How are authoritarian regimes created and how do they even stay in power? Authoritarian governments ascend to power due to a postwar upheaval and the leader in the charge; they stay in power by employing a resource trap and having a one party system.
