Born on December 26 1894, Jean Toomer was an accomplished poet, and novelist during the time of the harlem renaissance. His first book was published in 1923, titled Cane. Throughout the course of his life, he wrote a total of 21 poems, and 6 books. HIs full name was actually Nathan Pinchback Toomer, after his father, who decamped after his birth. Toomer was then raised by his mother, with some support from his grandparents. Nathan’s grandfather, Pinckney Pinchback referred to him as “Eugine“ instead of his father’s name as a way of showing disrespect to him for abandoning his family. Toomer’s family also had a European lineage, so growing up he moved between all-white and all-black schools. When he became an adult, he wasn’t very open about his
War, war never changes. From the trenches of WWI to drones used currently, nothing truly changed. Men fight. Men die. However, for 75+ men fighting at Hacksaw Ridge that wasn’t the case. Desmond Doss single-handedly saved 75 men during one of the bloody campaigns in WWII.
In a small town outside of metro Atlanta, each year, at least 1,500 refugees settle in the city of Clarkston to start a new beginning at life. Refugees from Bhutan, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia, Sudan, Liberia, and Vietnam come in waves from every corner of the globe. Lately there has been an increasingly number of refugees from the Congo, due to the civil war that has been ongoing for many years. Currently, there is a population of 13,000 individuals who have made Clarkston their home away from home. We ask, what brings the refugees to this little city? Many wonder how this has happened, how Clarkston has developed its own little cultural sense of identity? Refugees started settling in Clarkston back in the early 1990's, and it's been the resettlement hub ever since. The reason so many refugees settled in Clarkston, Georgia is due to the low- income based apartments, easy access to public transit and it’s near the interstate, which can take you to any part of Atlanta.

Today, he is not known for his past mistakes but for his charitable activities and his historic defensive capabilities in the NFL, even being named one of the most dominant linebackers in NFL history.
Sweat drips off your chin and stings your eyes. The rough stone, now hot with friction body heat, has begun to mark calluses on the base of your palm. The other workers in the room around you work on columns of stone and bits of obsidian using various sizes of chisels or hammers and picks. Finally, the call for the end of the workday washes over the jade workshop followed by a cacophony of tools being put down. You give the column you’re working on three final, hard rubs, then stand back to admire your work. The face of a giant stone warrior stares back at you. Once you clean up and exit the building, you stop a moment to admire the gold and jade buildings of the city around you before you hurry home. So what were the ancient Toltec like?
WILLIAM and Mary sat in the front row. The chairs were arranged in long, straight rows under a tent set up in the field next to the farmhouse. The farmhands and family stood as a fiddler played Here Comes the Bride. Annaliese’s father led Annaliese down an aisle between the rows of chairs. James and Reverend Flowers stood at the end of the aisle, waiting for the bride and her father to arrive. Annaliese was dressed in a long, white gown sewn by Mary and Annaliese’s mother in the weeks before the wedding. William looked up and smiled at Susan, Catherine, and two other bridesmaids standing off to the side. Mary sniffled and dotted her eyes with a handkerchief as Annaliese’s father gave his daughter a kiss on the cheek and shook James’s hand. A soft, late-afternoon breeze swept through the tent, offering slight relief from the blistering heat and oppressive

The Catholic church is one of the best known religions today. Yet it was not like this before in the olden times. The Church was not reaching out into the outer peripheries. Many people in general did not know what Catholicism was. They were misguided by the pagan priests who taught them false teachings of tree-rock-sun worship. Every time the Church would attempt to evangalize these countries they would be thrown out or the evangalizers would be killed in barbaric ways. Yet 1 man stood out and managed to succesfully evangalize most of Prague and Poland. That mans name was St. Adalbert.
Just across the street is the Trump International Hotel and Tower, one of the wealthiest hotels in the world. I'm in direct view of the penthouse that is where the target lives. Blaine DeBeers. The man looks like death. DeBeers pale skin and hair are extremely white and he has reddish circles around his blue eyes. He looks old. DeBeers is an entitled rich man who bites off more than he can chew in the drug business, and he runs the underground brain-delivery service in Seattle out of the butcher shop, Meat Cut. As one may ask "A Brain-delivery service?", he murders homeless teenagers and sells their brains to people who indulged in the unique cuisine. Though it is a unique business he is a murder and a drug dealer. The usual victim in my expertise.

In Katharine Brush’s short story, “The Birthday Party”, it describes the interaction between of a seemingly untroubling married couple on what should be a joyous event for both the husband and the wife. Brush manipulates literacy devices, like foreshadowing and alliteration, to emphasize her theme of how looks don't reflect the reality of the situation. In order to create an atmosphere of suspense in the short story, Brush utilizes the element of foreshadowing to establish a sense of uneasiness, which contributes the validity of her theme early in the story. Brushes writes,” nothing particularly noticeable until the end of their meal”.
At the dawn of the 21st century we live in an era of advanced technology and an urge to learn about the universe. We look at the sky and it represents a mystery, the moon, stars and constellations, even things not visible to the human eye. Technology allowed ancient astronomers to discover the irregularities in the moons structures. Discoveries like the moon has mountains and craters; it is not a perfect celestial body. Moreover, the earth is not the centre of the universe and humans are not a superior race. In our discovery of the sun, moon and stars we look into the methods employed by ancient civilizations to locate celestial bodies and the significance attached to them.
