We don’t forget the memories we want to remember. We forget the ones that were too painful. Beloved was murdered. It was not a peaceful death and Sethe knew this. Her daughter's
Wikel 8 death haunted her for the rest of her life. Anytime, a parent loses a child it's extremely painful. Sethe never planned or thought that she would have to murder one of her own. This causes Beloved to assertively ask Sethe how she could murder her daughter and leave her behind. Beloved denies Sethe’s reasoning and shoots back at Sethe by saying that her mother never came to her never said a word to her never smiled and worst of all never waved goodbye or even looked her way before running away from her (Morrison, 284).
In the end, we know what happened to Sethe
