In the two short scenes in Agro that shows Tony Mendez, played by Ben Affleck, displays him forging the six hostage’s passports and in these two scenes Ben Affleck fails to show the social construct education. Ben Affleck failed to film the two scenes properly which caused lack of education. Tony Mendez had education to know how to forge documents. Ben Affleck’s scene when Mendez was working on the passports were short and weren’t detailed enough to show how hard the real Tony Mendez worked on the passports and other documents. It took Tony Mendez weeks to forge the passports, but in the movie it only showed him forging the passports for a split second but because it shows Mendez forging the passports in such a short time it fails to show the education that Tony Mendez had to know to …show more content…
It does not show the hard work and education Mendez had to go through for his job in the CIA. Ben Affleck should have put more detail into the depth of how much work and how hard it was for Mendez to fake the stamps and signature in the passports. Not only did Ben Affleck fail to film the scene of the forging of the passports properly, but he also didn’t show how serious and dramatic the six hostages needing to learn their new identity. They don’t have the education that some of the CIA people have to fake a new identity. Affleck failed to show how serious it was for the six hostages to study and learn their parts before entering the airport. They had to know their new identity by heart or the whole mission would have went up in flames. Mendez has the education to fake his identity and he had to teacher the six hostages how to learn their identity. Not
The way the film was presented was partially effective for the fact that the message of the story, for me, was not easily or instantly understood. This is a humongous deal as a result of if I was not able to understand it at an age of 15 then a great deal of children would not be able to understand that message. When I first saw this shot my reaction was “look an insane decrepit man” which is a great deal of people's reaction to the film, I'm guessing.
For the most part, Snowden is shot from a close-up angle, showing his face and shoulders. In that context, Poitras deliberately chooses that angle, in order to show Snowden’s facial expressions and emotions. By seeing his true reactions to questions and comments, his emotions while he speaks about the surveillance, we get a glimpse of who Snowden really is and what are his intentions. As a result, the movie is effective in its purpose to reveal the truth about him, the nation’s “hero” and “traitor” and let us judge him accordingly, after seeing his perspective of the
When reading this book, you can tell by the words Mendez and Baglio use that the tone is dangerous and suspenseful. With all that was at stake, the Canadians and the CIA agents had to be very careful with what they said and did. One little slip up with what they said or did could cause them to all be taken away or even killed. When Mendez and the six diplomats arrived at the airport to leave they had to go through a lot of different check points. To go through these check points, they had to provide different types of identification to let the officers in the airport
Ms. Chavez, Christopher's mother, expressed deep concern about his developmental state. On the behalf of Hugo Santos I am Citlalli Lopez his significant other. I’m 21 years old, a full time college student, and I work part time. Hugo willingly admitted he was guilty for his action of committed offense back in May 20, 2012. I wasn’t with him at the time but the amount of time I have been with him, since 2014, Hugo has been nothing but loyal, genuine, loving and honest. I see him helping the people that matters to him and people that need the help. For instance when we are out and about in the streets, sometimes we come across the unsheltered citizens of San Antonio. Hugo always tries to offer them his shoes, money or water. He obeyed the rules from when he had the ankle bracelet on for more than 120 days, accepted the fact he
Essentially, the whole documentary is one big personal experience, since majority of the film is spent in Snowden’s Hong Kong hotel room, while he is hiding from the United States government. Here, Snowden and Greenwald, plan on how to continue their reporting, and how to make Snowden’s confession public. Through this, Poitras is able to collect what appears to be raw footage of Snowden’s reactions to the decision-making process, and eventually, the rest of the world finally discovering who he is. This not only, shows the audience what was going on in real time for Snowden, but also shows the complications with it, and how quickly the United States located him. By capturing Snowden’s real-time reactions, Poitras is also able to include a dramatic element to the film by simply showing how this
Soto illustrates the innocence of young love and the transition from childhood to adulthood in his poem "Oranges" using structure, figurative language, and contrast. The transition from childhood to adulthood is one marked with awkwardness and an unsure idea of where exactly one fits in. It is a time of exploration and loss of innocence, as one learns the reality of the world and begins to open their eyes. But this loss of innocence is not entirely bad, as one is exposed to the beauty along with the cruelty of the world. In Soto's poem "Oranges," the speaker recalls his first date, his first infatuation, his first experience with young love. The imagery and overall detail of the poem suggest that the speaker recalls this memory very well, hinting at its importance, while the structure draws attention to the developments throughout the date. The poem begins with "I" and "her," transitions to "we" and
In the novel The Lost Hero, by Rick Riordan, Jason’s attitude and personality change from the beginning to the end of the story. At the start of The Lost Hero, Jason is thrust into a world of gods and monsters, with no recollection of what happened before that day. He is confused about his powers and past and insecure in his leadership ability. One example of this is on page 26. After jumping off the skywalk to saver Piper, Jason unintentionally controls the winds to keep them from falling. This shows that Jason didn’t know how he possessed this power and that he didn’t know how to control it. Even though you may underestimate yourself sometimes, many have abilities that they haven’t discovered yet.

Rick Riordan explains the setting where the characters are in so well. Tartarus for an example. Rick Riordan explained Tartarus as a eternal pit of darkness and it’s true. He said Tartarus was, “A dark gloomy place, with broken glass as beaches for the river.”

The moral compass of virtue rest in social programs of a good paying job, homeownership, and public safety providing security to maximize health and protection of private property. I found the movie Snowden to be shocking and eye opening. Watching the progression of Edward Snowden is interesting from when he is a die hard American to quite the opposite by the end. Snowden was almost like watching a fictional crime show where none of the situations could possibly be real. The fact that the government can spy on us doesn't seem to be real. I think people believe no one will spy on them, or they have nothing to hide, or of what importance are they to the government, but in reality each person matters to them because we all equal money. Seeing how the government tracks people makes those people tracking seem superior, as if they have the controls to a video game, and in some ways they do. The amount of conning shows me
A subtle exploration of the subliminal human mind and identity, Ingmar Bergman’s film Persona is a visual delight. The film is about two women, Elisabeth Vogler and Sister Alma, who personas fuse together and develop through speech, silence and expression. While Elisabeth, an actress makes an aesthetic choice to be silent, Sister Alma attempts to break the actress’s silence her by talking about herself. For Elisabeth, her silence opens the door to enter a new reality where she can escape from the world she belongs to. She is exhausted from being an actress, a constant victim of public scrutiny who hides in front of the camera wearing someone else’s identity all the time.
